5. The chief designer said they dropped the top and windshield and did multiple 24 hour rain tests without issue. He confirmed drain holes in the floor.
Very good.
I think we all want the creature comforts and tech, but still want the utility of body colored carpetless floors, with rubber mats, all of it able to be hosed off.

A primary interest for me is the manual transmission. Currently we know the model number (D478) , gearing and possibly it is made by Aisin. I would like to know the design characteristics and how robust it is. And if the transmission has been used in any shape/form in other vehicles, in order to judge how well it has held up over time. Looking forward to driving reviews, to also see how well the cable shifting works.

I want to see the new rear windows on the soft top. There was a lot of talk about how easy they are to remove and install but no demonstrations of just how easy.

Wow, that's great news. :like: Hopefully, these rain tests included a post-test evaluation of the clock spring. That seems to be a weak-link for the JK design.
This is a big deal for me. I really hope they covered the clock spring better than the JK.

Yep, I'd at least like to see the auto media get their hands on one and write at least an honest first impression. Not fluff, either, but honest.

When will those lucky bozos who got the free trip to New Zealand get off the leash and write something about what they experienced?
In just under 10 days :like:

I know I saw the video where that was mentioned, but can't find it right now. If I recall correctly, they (he) said 24hour mist tests. Aventus mentioned hosing it out. I'd be a bit apprehensive about blasting the dash with a hose. :)

They are under embargo until 12/13. I'm sure they've got their reviews all written up and just waiting to be published once the embargo expires.

Nice to see Invoice pricing vs MSRP, I can't really place an order on a 2-DR till I know the invoice price of it. Needless to say I'm waiting till next year to do anything, as I'm all in on a JL, and while I was hoping for a Diesel, it's only in the JLU which is so very sad.

Head over to the "Ordering and Pricing Discussions" subforum. There's updated ordering guides with the options and codes for both the JL and JLU that include the Sport models. At this time, no, LED lights are not orderable for either Sport variety.

For all those curious of the soft top functionality, go have a look at the Trektop NX glide. They based it on that top.
There was a video interview on TFLCar on the Mopar modified Jeep, the Headlights are going to be available at launch as an upgrade.
