  1. Long legs and the JL don't mix...

I had an XJ in the past and the brake and gas were at similar levels. There were more than a few occasions where I would mash both the gas and the brake when trying to go. Being 6'4" with a 34" inseam but wide feet makes me really appreciate where my JK petals sit. Unless you want to do...
  2. What we haven't seen yet

For all those curious of the soft top functionality, go have a look at the Trektop NX glide. They based it on that top. There was a video interview on TFLCar on the Mopar modified Jeep, the Headlights are going to be available at launch as an upgrade.
  3. Short guys only again?

TFLCar will have some notes on the big & tall. Roman and Andre are 6'1" and 6'2". They keep saying they'll be driving the Wrangler soon. The Steering wheel now telescopes, but I think that helps shorter people out more.
  4. Do the rear seats fold flush on the JLU?

The 2 door has the subwoofer in the floor, and the 4 door has it in the picture above. This means that the 4 door gets about the same amount of in-floor storage as before.
  5. MOPAR Parts & Pricing Released for JL Wrangler

The Rubicon has a wider axle and 2" higher front fender to fit 35s. I imagine the Saharas can fit a 33 without issue.
  6. Plug-In Hybrid Wrangler Coming in 2020 Announces Jeep CEO

There were a couple interviews just following the event (now on YouTube) that confirm it is a Plug-in Hybrid, not full electric. I thought I heard plug in electric only as well.
  7. Airbag deployment

The engineering involved has to do with the requirements of the G-sensors. I only listed the speed as a reference of hitting a brick wall or a tree, but there is a G-limit. You accelerate at 8m/s/s. So in a 2 second free-fall, you're falling fast enough in a vehicle to warrant the airbags going...
  8. Airbag deployment

Low speed airbag deployment hasn't been a thing since probably the 70s. Airbags don't go off unless you actually need them, or around a 30-40mph impact. Airbag deployment is based on the impact sensed by the computer.
  9. 2018 Wrangler JL Owners Manual and User Guide leaked!

The new soft tops, at least from the leaked photos, are in the style of the BestTop TrekTop NX Glide. Since BestTop is one of the OEM suppliers, it stands to reason that is where the technology went to. They use rails instead of zippers and locks into the door frames. This is a change from the...
  10. Ran into the JL commercial shoot in Colorado!

The Rubicon models have been shown to have high line fenders and a slight lift. Yes they have huge fender gaps but I think that is intentional.
  11. Leaks and Blend door issues

I have had my hard top start to leak in the winter due to ice building up in the freedom panel joints. I've had to wait for a good chinook to blow through to warm up everything to reseat the panels. I can't comment on the blend door issues. Plenty of -30C winter driving days with lots of heat...
  12. Spied: Wrangler 2-Door JL Rubicon Soft Top and Export JL Sport Hard Top

I looks like it has a framed rear window like the Trektop NX pro. Would be nice to not have to worry about zippers.
