Could a heavy cross wind maybe as it crosses a hood vent or the quarter panel vent maybe crest that noise. I get it in heavy cross winds and it's not loud at all it almost sounds like a three beep warning, similar to leaving seat belt off warning. It sounds like it's on the left side of vehicle. I do not believe it's the hard top I could be wrong.
Did you have your seatbelt on ?! Lol

I did, lol.
And based on it only happening in heavy cross winds, I'm not worried about it. We've had some extreme, sustained (daily) winds of late in Maryland. More than I can ever remember.

I must be one of the lucky ones
I picked up my JLUR with a hard top on Saturday and now have over 200 miles on it
Wind direction has varied as well as wind speed
Fortunatly I have had zero problems with wind noise so far
I’m coming out of a JK with rag top and not a car so that might be the difference maker
I had Bluetooth in the JK and never could use it because of wind noise with the rag top
So far I’m lov’in my new ride

I went with the hard top and already missing my premium soft top from my JK, the premium soft top runs really quiet and I never had an issue with it leaking. When they are available I will be buying another premium soft top to run during the spring-November. I have sold both of my last 2 hard tops, I love the hard top, love the way it looks too, but the ease of usage on the soft top is sure hard to beat. My hard top in this JLU is pretty noisy, especially at highway speeds, I was surprised, but not disappointed....it is a jeep

I've had 3 JK's and none as loud as the one JL I drove. It may not be with every one of them, but there is definitely an issue. It would be unfortunate if it was a design flaw.

When I read forum posts about "Hard top wind noise", I always wonder..... Have these people ever owned a Wrangler JK ?
Sure, if you are used to driving a Lexus, Silverado, Civic, SUV, Morano or whatever you has think the JLU has something wrong with it/wind noise.
Reality is the less quiet cabin environment of the JLU @ speeds over 60 mph it is the nature of the beast lets say. It's normal for a Jk or JL. Get used to it.
Yes, there could be an occasional JLU that has a windshield seal leak, removable roof panels not sealing...
Lauren, In your case, since the dealer is saying normal and it is apparent that this "high pitched whistle" is not normal, your next move should be to contact JeepCares....ask them for assistance. Ask them to arrange for a more through, investigative, evaluation of the issue at another dealership. They will gladly do this.

Can I ask if anyone that you've been in touch with has gotten this issue resolved by the dealer?

No..... been to the dealer twice and they say all the JL’s sound that way though they admit it’s louder than the JK’s. They said until Jeep issues a bulletin nothing will happen because they don’t know what to do with it.

Did you go through the @JeepCares private chat to your dealer?

I have had 2 JKs and 2 TJs all with hardtops and one TJ with the softop. My JLUR is awesome and the best Jeep I have owned but it is much louder than my JK. The noise is around the windshield surround. There are no leaks, water or otherwise. I have adjusted everything. We wouldn’t have a thread with 21 pages if something wasn’t going on. Where there’s smoke there’s fire. It is a Jeep, and it could just be that this is what we will have to live with. That’s fine. But let’s not just assume people are stupid. I can live with it. But it isn’t as quiet as the hardtop JK. Period.
