If you have a hardtop hoist, not that hard. I change mine out spring and fall. Do my TJ also. The hardtop is just 8 bolts (4-door, not not sure on 2-door) and the Freedom panels. The softtop has the door surrounds to install and a couple of brackets for the back window bar to snap in to. I leave the sportbar brackets for the softtop to mount to on all the time. How much trouble is it to switch back and forth between hard top and soft top?
Thanks...
Seasonal is what I was thinking. Its simple, not sure what people complain about. I do it every season, soft top in the summer, hard top in the winter. I've used a Hoist-a-Cart (when alone), I've also used suction cups to pull the hard top (when I have one other person to help). Putting the soft top on takes less than 30 min. Again, not sure what the issue is here aside from having to store a hard top.
I have 37" tires and a 2.5" lift, and I do this in a standard home garage.
Seasonal is not bad at all. My son and I have been swapping the hardtop/soft top almost every spring and winter on my wife's JLU since 2018. We didn't do it last year because we have a car in the garage now where I used to put the hard top, but he stored the hard top for his JLUR at a buddy's storage unit.Seasonal is what I was thinking.
Thanks all for the replies...
