I reached back out to Jeep Chat and got ahold of Brandi instead of David. She told me right away that it was ETA to dealer.
Each time I had David, he either couldn't answer a question or answered incorrectly. I literally did same - reached back out to the next person and got the answers I needed

I am going next week to Gupton's to pick up the new ride. Anyone that wants me to check for a vehicle let me know and I can try and get a pic for you.
My HV yellow JLUR Willys w/ black hardtop is there. A pic would be cool if you see it!

Question for those out of state who picked up from Gupton

Reading the Manual it says Break-in period
A long break-in period is not required for the engine and drivetrain (transmission and axle) in your vehicle. Drive moderately during the first 300 miles.
After the initial 60 miles, speeds up to 50 or 55 mph are desirable.

I live 275 miles from the dealership and will be driving home. Of that ~245 of those are 75 South i.e. Highway Miles How literaly is the 50-55 ? To a baby it the whole way?

What have others done?

Not out of state, but about 200 miles away. We drove my JLU to Gupton on I-40, then my wife followed me home in her JL. I navigated a course that used state highways (no interstates) from Springfield back to East Tennessee. Since I was leading, I set the pace. Yes, we drove home at <55, varying speeds depending on the road and not staying at any one speed for too long.

The drive home took much longer than the drive to Springfield. But we saw some awesome sights, and found a great restaurant in a tiny town we never would have driven thru otherwise.

In your case (and assuming you're going to ATL), I used Google Maps and clicked the option to avoid highways (Waze will do this as well). It generated a non-interstate route that is about 2 hours longer to drive, but avoids all interstates. If you're driving 45-55 on a state road, you're less likely to get 'applauded' for your efforts by other drivers. (274 miles on interstates vs 302 miles on non interstates). Here's the link: Springfield to Atlanta options (GMaps)

I did same but it turns a 4.5 hr drive into a 7hrs which I can't do unless I convince my wife to stay in Nashville etc. Likely it will be an out the day prior and back when I take aquisition

Yes, I forgot to mention that we did the same and spent the night in Springfield. We drove in late afternoon, had dinner in Nashville, then drove to Springfield and spent the night. I recommend the Hampton Inn Springfield. It's very close and was clean, quiet, and well apointed.

I don't believe in breaking in a new vehicle that way. There are lots of posts about and opinions on how to break in an engine but I'm more in the let it fully warm up and then drive it like you stole it. Supposedly gets the rings to seat better. Also lots of hard breaking to bed in the brakes.

Waiting on Willys 392 SOT
Just placed my first order with Daniel at Gupton.
He was great to work with.
The previous two were with Chapman.
They were great, too, but we've got family in Nashville we've been meaning to visit, so we'll make a trip out of it.
