Agreed! But, why can't they send the Purchase Order??? :headbang:

Is it that they are playing games and want you to do financing with them? There's a reason they have such high interest rates and offer you $1K to finance with them. :giggle:
yea. That’s probably the reason. Koons says you have to make the first three payments and then do whatever you want. I don’t want financing at all, so I just confirmed that there was no prepayment penalty and called it a day. I’ll pay it off after month three. Unless, of course, the stock market comes back. In that case, I’ll refi with a credit union and arbitrage that bitch. LOL

Paying off or paying cash for a vehicle right now is a pretty terrible financial decision with Series I savings bonds currently yielding 9.62 percent and auto loans still available at ~2.5 percent. You are literally losing $700 per year for every $10,000 you sink in your Jeep. That would be $2800 additional per year starting out you could earn if you took a $40,000 auto loan instead and were able to put that cash in Series I savings bonds.

Hence my somewhat indelicate reference to “arbitrage”. And, yes, there are good options for that besides equities right now. No doubt.

Criswell in VA is doing the same bait and switch, 3% discount, but then they Offer you 6% on interest rates with excellent credit. Not even the 4.68% at jeep website.

Im dealing with this now.

My Jeep was showing a delivery date for Wed 7/27. On 7/19 I lined up financing at my local credit union to lock in the rate before the fed raised them again. The bank requested an updated purchase order that included the VIN etc. so I messaged Craig. He said he could not provide an updated order under the Jeep arrived and was entered into their system but would send it once it was.

Yesterday on 7/27 I received an email saying my Jeep arrived. I requested an updated buyers order so the bank could process my loan but never received it. Today, I confirmed an appointment to pick the Jeep up at 1 pm tomorrow. I again requested an updated buyers order with no response. The bank closes today at 6 pm so around 4 I sent an email asking again if someone was going to send me the form. I received a response that the finance manager would be contacting but here I sit still waiting and now the banks closed.

Im in PA so now I need to hopefully get the form first thing in the morning, go to the bank to process the loan, then make it to VA for my 1 pm appointment smh.

It sucked! I was impressed with Koons price and the process was reasonable when I arrived for pickup, but I had a certified check to pay for it so they knew I wasn't adding anything. As for their communication, I'd honestly give them a 3 out of 10. Good luck and post pic when you finally get it.

When I completed the online app they require, I made sure to add comments with the check total. I have a feeling they didn't like that too much.

I received a call from the finance manager first thing this morning. He apologized for not contacting me sooner and said it was extremely busy at the dealership yesterday. 10 minutes later I had the updated buyers order.

At the dealer, they didn't play any games. My sticker was about $2500 more compared to when I submitted the order and they didn't try getting me to pay the increase. They went over all the available extended warranties etc. but did not pressure me when I passed on them all. Overall the experience was solid and I would definitely buy from Koons again.

Thank you!

I got a really good rate from my credit union but they did ask if I would give them the opportunity to beat it. I'm more than happy with my rate and plan to pay off the balance within a year so I denied their offer. They seemed confident they could beat it so I believe if you already have financing in place you may receive a better rate.

So just wondering did Koons stop the dealer financing required to get the addition % discount? I know for a while they required financing with Chrysler capital and three payments to be made before you could refi, etc etc

I’m not sure how they handle models other than the 392. The 392 is a straight $8K off. Final price is price protected and the discount is not tied to dealer financing.

Figured I would update since I finished my refinancing this morning. I picked up my Jeep on June 24th and refinanced this morning after making 2 payments. The refinance only required the payoff amount and a picture of the NH registration. The rates have been climbing but I locked in 3.74 with my credit union so a bit better than the 5.9 through Koons(TDauto). I'm pretty sure I could have done this all a month ago for a better rate but I thought I would need to do the three payments with Koons first. That may differ by state though, no idea.

I will reiterate though, dealing with Craig and the team at Koons was nothing but positive.
