What route did you take for the first 500 miles to keep the speed down? Doing a similar path to Texarkana for my layover next week.

That's my plan, I can get a direct that lands pretty early, while you are snapping pictures, go ahead and take one of my Hydro Blue Rubicon with black wheels/hard top, ha. I've e-mailed, I wonder if I should call, it would be nice to grab it next week before I have work travel/Thanksgiving.

Have fun!

When mine arrived, Renee just reached out and asked what day I'd like to come get it.

Anyone who did the 0% Chrysler loan, how long did it take for a first bill to arrive? Just curious, it's been about 2 weeks since pickup for me.

Do me a favor? Get a count of how many Wranglers are actually on the lot right now.
A bunch of photos will get you bonus points. ;)
Walter at Gupton’s told me on Wednesday that they had 147 on the lot! I’ll try to get a pic tomorrow when I am there to pick up my new 4xe. I am scheduled to do that in the afternoon because they have so many folks flying in from out of state for theirs who wanted early appointments so that they can get an early start on the road home. I live locally.

I wonder how many Wranglers Gupton sells a year?

My impression when I went to Gupton’s to see a 4xe in person was that their business model is based on custom orders. On that day, they had at least several dozen Wranglers on the lot, and every one of them was sold, awaiting pick up. They had only one vehicle available for sale on the lot that day, and it was a custom order that someone backed out of.

Thanks!
That is crazy. Our 3 local dealers, still none since June when I ordered mine.

Lucky you living close.
Let me ask you this, what kind of rep does Gupton have amongst the locals?

Our dealer has been receiving orders placed between 9/25-9/30 during the last two weeks. I think we had a record of 4 weeks.

Hoping to get a group buy together at 9.5%!

I really can’t say. I live nearby, but about 40 min away, not in Springfield. It’s a surprisingly small place, not one of those flashy dealerships with a gigantic lot and big flashy building with a 2-story showroom. Instead, they seem to focus on customers and up front pricing.

Back to the original question of this thread….
I ordered my Sahara 4xe on 8/19.
it was built on Oct 22&25.
It departed on the train on Oct 26, and arrived at Gupton on Nov 2.
That was about a week and a half before the 12 week point I’d guessed it would take.

Oh Guptons is tiny. The other local dealers have got to be super pissed at all the (sold) units on that lot (and out front and on the hill and....)

I just wondered about the locals attitude towards Gupton. But then again, I wonder if many locals even know the deals they are making.

For instance, our closest Jeep dealer has been around forever and are known for not dealing significantly. Their service department is said to suck and yet people keep buying from them. It fasinates me.

I gave them a shot at my current unit and will again in the spring, but they still won't come off MSRP I doubt.

That's too bad because I am a HUGE proponent of doing business locally, when possible, but I'm also a proponent of saving 6 grand for the same, exact item.

This - right here, I don't understand why more people don't follow this plan. I guess they do since Gupton has 147 Jeep's on the lot, while the three dealers in my area have 0. My local dealer actually had the exact build I wanted and ended up purchasing from Gupton. I basically gave them multiple opportunities to meet somewhere in the middle without giving them dealer names.

No movement, and it's not just that they wanted MSRP, they also had an additional $1000 of fluff and higher dealer fees. I guess people end up just walking up to a lot and buying a vehicle without any due diligence, etc. That would drive me crazy.

I bought my '07 JKU in the same manner, a dealer was doing 6% below invoice, $499 fees. This was in October '06, right when they came out, no issues. Now look at Ford and that mess, my Jeep has served me well for 15 years. Hopefully the JL will last another 15.

I am in Nashville and never considered Gupton until I stumbled across this forum after buying my first Jeep in Franklin back in July. My initial thought was that a small dealer like Gupton would not be able to offer the best deals. I’ve never been more wrong ?
