Jeep Wrangler JL Guide: Wrangler Order, Build, Tracking and Delivery Process 20211030_152547

I took delivery today!! This thing is awesome!!! I had never driven a MT JL until I drove mine for the first time. WOW what a world of difference between the JK and JL manuals. The distance between sequential gears has to be less than half on the JL.

I have to give a shout out to my dealer, Walser CJDR in Hopkins, MN. I've bought several cars from them over many years. They have always been great to do business with. They honored the Tread Lightly AR program pricing just like they said they would even after FCA/Stellantis removed the Wrangler from the program on 10/1. Orders placed before 10/1 are supposed to qualify, but I know many dealers aren't honoring it. I was wondering if I was going to get a surprise increase, but I didn't.

8/21 - Order
8/21 - VON
8/25 - VIN and D , maybe a day or two earlier
9/24 - D1
9/29 - Est Build date 10/13
10/11 - Framing stage, should be complete within a couple days.
10/12 - Built: awaiting installation of accessories
10/13 - Build sheet
10/18 - Completed Inspection, in shipping stage, no dealer ETA
10/19 - KZS, still no dealer ETA, Window Sticker!!!
10/22 - In transit, dealer ETA 10/27-11/8
10/27 - At the local railyard, only 30 miles to go!!!
10/29 - Arrived at dealer, pick up tomorrow after PDI complete
10/30 - Took Delivery!!!!

Looks like you are in D1 status. Not sure how often you check Jeep Chat. At this stage they may not be able to provide an estimated build date, but they should be able to tell you how long you have been at this stage, "all parts gathered... and sequenced for build". I was in that stage for about 5 days before I got an estimated build start date.
I was contacting Jeep Chat once every two weeks on Saturday, but now that things are moving, I will contact JC every Saturday.

One thing I forgot to mention about my delivery. Before leaving I checked fuses like everyone say. There were 5 or six that were visibly at an angle and at best pushed in 75% of the way. I would say 50-60% were in about 85-90% of the way. They were sticking out enough that I could feel them go in and snap into place when I pressed on them. I was surprised how many weren't fully seated.

This isn't a huge deal, it only took a few minutes to go through the entire fuse box, but definitely follow this recommendation and check your fuse box on delivery. Most of them were probably fine, but those 5 or 6 that were visibly not in all the way may have caused problems on bumpy off roads.

Just checked in with JC and my ETA window moved up a bit from 11/10-11/24 to 11/5-11/24.
Not sure if I should get excited or just stick with my original expectations

Anyone experience a window shift and end up getting theirs sooner than expected?

PS: I fully realize most people who already have their Jeeps are no longer lingering on this thread!

On 10/28 dealer said it's in transit, but no ETA because there's a shortage of truck carriers and JC said it's in the shipping stage with dealer ETA of 10/27-11/1. On 10/30 our dealer said it's here. I didn't expect it to be here this soon from what the dealer said, so who knows. Good luck with your Jeep!

Thanks and congrats on getting your jeep!
I'm not sure why my window is so large, but I hope it will narrow over time and I'll get an early surprise??

Ordered MY21 Willys Sport JLU EcoDiesel with Tow/Accessory package on 8/30. Salesman at Frisco Jeep doesn't think to highly of communication. Found out from Jeep Chat today my order FINALLY has all the parts gathered and is awaiting a build date. I finally feel like things are happening, so excited! :jk:?

I won't be contacting the salesman at Frisco Jeep again. Want to see if he'll ever initiate anything on his own, or if he wants me to keep doing his job for him. ?
good luck! ive been at D1 on my jlur diesel for about 9 weeks now

I just got my window sticker for my JL on order and there were price increases from when I ordered on 9/13: switching to the 2.0 engine (with auto trans) is only a $500 credit instead of $1000. I also noticed the destination charge went up $100 from $1495 to $1595. Has this happened to anyone else?

I noticed when I ordered my new Willys that the destination charge was $1595. I guess you just caught up in the new change.

I guess so. I was just looking at the 2022 "Code Guide" and that's where those prices are reflected. Too bad for me lol

if you look at your order sheet that will be the price you will pay. The only exception will be if the model year changes. Jeep and the dealer should honor the price you ordered as.
