Guide: Wrangler Order, Build, Tracking and Delivery Process

We were in town today and I noticed a truck unloading in front of the dealership...detoured to see if mine was on it (estimated dealer deliver 14Feb-26Feb), but mine wasn't there. About an hour later the sales rep texted and mine us due into the Roper Auto Terminal in SLC on Friday. Hopefully it gets on a truck to head south quickly. I was hoping I'd have it by this weekend, but that seems unlikely.

Ordered 8 October as a BY21, but due to the delays it converted to a BY22. I haven't hashed out what happens with pricing yet with the dealer. But, my deposit was only $500, so if they don't play nice I'll walk and order from a dealer out of state. Good luck selling my manual transmission here...they tend to sit on the lot for ages.

How does one get a build sheet for a JLU that we purchased from the lot? I tried putting the VIN in by using the link provided and even in the Build Sheet tracker but it comes up with nothing, not even the window sticker

Ordered 1/11, built 2/7, just received email it should be at the dealer 2/22. Was really not expecting it yet, nor am I ready for it…originally dealer said 3 month lead time…it was supposed to be a birthday present for the wife…guess she gets it early!

You just have to hide it somewhere until her birthday. Maybe a giant mattress you can stick it under? Do you have one of those?

Should work. Be sure to use upper case letters.

picked it up today.
Took three months. I ordered 11/11 from Elder in Athens Texas.
They gave me 2% under invoice
with the tread lightly affiliate.
My vehicle was price protected and there are a first class dealer
It wasn’t worth to me for the extra savings to go out of town.

I let the dealer manager I ordered from know that I was planning on using the affiliate program. He balked, gave me the usual drivel about inventory and taking away their profit etc. he told me he has to check with his “boss”. The dealership is one of several owned by corporation. I will know what they say tomorrow. If we can’t come to an agreement, I’ll go somewhere else like Koon’s.
I’ll lose a month but better than getting ripped off.

Friday at 5PM the sales rep called me and it had surprisingly showed up. I was the last customer out of the dealership before closing on Friday night, but the wait is over!

Last week the dealer said it would be in SLC on Friday, then with the holiday weekend maybe get down to me some time this week. That is a beauty. Hardest decision I made was to go Sting Gray over Granite Crystal. I may just have to get one of each. Enjoy!

Edit: By my count, you waited about 133 days. I’m only on day 11…this is going to be excruciating.

I went back and forth with that same dilemma. My decision was made for me when my dad got a "Cement" Tacoma. I didn't want to have a similar colored ride as my dad.

Cement?! What an underwhelming name for a color. You did good, but a Sting Gray Jeep would still have put that Cement Tacoma to shame. I’m so impressed with the chameleon-like paint colors on these Jeeps that adapt to their environments. Now go get it dirty!

You may have a more reasonable wait than I did. I ordered right as the BYs were switching and as we headed into the year-end slowdown. Omicron was also in full swing at that point, I'm sure affecting staffing. There's lots of people posting about orders they placed in January coming in February, so you may luck out. Keep me posted!

Mine was released feb 14th but still waiting on shipment ! I can’t get a solid answer from anyone. Dealer states early March or mid March …

Here's a funny question - if the vehicle arrives while one is out of town how long can it be held for or are there any alternate solutions? Say I have a planned trip in April and murphy's law makes the car arrive the day after I leave, what happens then?

My understanding is they must be picked up within 14 days of delivery to the dealer to ensure price protection.
