I made this video mainly for us in the Jeep community.

This is a great setup for getting unstuck and I've had really good luck with it. The stake doesn't always work, but when it does it is invaluable.

Just wanted to give some of you a different option when looking at a winch setup and etc.

Hey Chris,

Great video, great authentic demonstration. I'm definitely not a fan of the stake. Check out winch anchors for basically any soil conditions and much safer.

Question: Does the transfer case need to be in neutral?

I was hoping that this would be a great, affordable anchor that worked as well as the other much more expensive competition. Bummer.

I would seriously spend an hour digging a hole to throw the spare tire in rather than using a stake. That’s a javelin coming at your head.

Thanks brother for the awesome feedback! Regarding the Transfer Case, I just put it in neutral so there is less resistance on the winch. The difference is probably minimal, but it's just something I always do.

The whole intent of the video was to help people out and I think your idea about the Anchor Support is amazing. I have added a link in the description of the video to the Pull Pal Anchor you are recommending.

Thanks again.

That stake as a projectile can be fatal.. not sure how safe this procedure is
It's most definitely not for everyone and I fully understand why some people wouldn't want to use it. I tried to emphasize the safety aspect the best I could in the video for those who do wish to give it a try.

In the end, I think the Anchor System Flip talks about is a really good solution to this issue and probably works 100% better.
