Note the OP didn't post any of this but we called it. I've been wheeling modified Jeeps and owning firearms in CA for 3 decades. I know the exact power tripping, misinformed, I should thank you for wasting my time and "letting me go with a warning" after you can't find any real crimes during your unjustified stop. Learn your job and piss off. The only way to stay out of jail, impounded vehicles, and other bs in the state is to know the laws, and when you do you quickly realize the enforcers don't. "You dare to question my authority, I'll write you all kinds of bs tickets if you make me do my job and look it up".
If I WAS a cop these would be my favorite arrests, the hey I KNOW MY RIGHTS type.

Simple- if you have the authority to call it an “Emergency” 🤷🏼‍♂️
Or a "mistake", I thought his factory tint was illegal... then he reached under the seat so I shot him. Or "exigent circumstances" I heard someone asking for me to come violate their rights. Or the wonderful "officer safety" exemptions. I had to search his vehicle without a warrant because he was "acting suspicious" after my illegal traffic stop, which I can't possibly be asked to know the vehicle codes I spend all day enforcing. Just give them a badge and a gun and let them do whatever they want.

Unfortunately it's those power tripping ones that are going to show innocent citizens they"ARE THE LAW" and we have no rights that cost tax payers millions every year. Some of those interactions are just douches looking to harass the cop, Unfortunately all too often the cop doesn't actually know his job well enough to do it.

Tinted taillights and no mirrors, you're a road hazard.
With a Karen attitude.
Sell your jeep and buy a Bicycle! I have some mirrors for you.

Just because you're technically with in your law...being right and being smart are not the same.
Are you assuming everyone who drives without side mirrors wears a neck brace or is otherwise incapable of turning their head? If so, yeah, I agree... not smart. Otherwise, the rear view mirror offers a pretty decent field of view of what's behind me, especially with the rear windows removed as I do when I take the doors off. A quick glance left or right when you signal your change to make sure your blind spot is clear is all that's necessary.

For one thing the center rear mirror is the least important, whats behind you means jack shite.
I drove 30 years in a commercial vehicle that didnt have one, most don't that have an obstructed view.
It's your left side that is most important 90% of the time.
And with no right side mirror , you cover your right side as much as possible.

It would probably help if the state code wasn't so convoluted. Cops shouldn't need to be lawyers, they are low IQ enforcers of the state. They have a necessary role.
What a dimwitted thing to say, you obviously have no idea what training or requirements are required.

If I were to see someone driving on the highway with no doors/side mirrors, I would quickly distance myself. The only way for them to tell what is next to them is to take their eyes off the road in front of them. The rearview mirror only shows so much.

It’s also pretty much legal to steal $950 from retail stores in CA, (misdemeanor, no investigation) but that doesn’t make it okay.

Be smart, use side mirrors. Not worth putting yourself or anyone else in harms way.

(I'm sure he wasn't driving a Jeep when he said that, but it's still a badass quote)
He's right.

Misdemeanors are legal? Weird how they end up on your criminal record unlike... legally driving with 1 rearview mirror.

Some of the worst civil rights violations I have noted by law enforcement have been made by officers who make well into the six figures. Cops are pretty well paid now, yes exceptions...

They also wear the uniform working private security to make even more money... which is wrong in it self.
We’re talking about an officer in Lodi, WI. Small town.

And yes, officers do side gigs and overtime to make extra income. Because most of them aren’t raking in upper incomes. Consider it a perk for being sworn at, spit on, kicked in the face, and apparently, ridiculed in public forums.

Eh, only if the authorities go after you for it, which they won‘t in CA. I think you missed the bigger point here…

Have you ever driven without doors? The visibility is far better than with doors. Even if you trade the side view mirrors for that better visibility I'd argue it's a wash. You aren't going to side swipe that car in what would be your blind spot with your hip when you can see them and the road clearly out the door opening.

Hi. Are you new to driving? Do you know that side mirrors are used for being aware of your surroundings while you are driving forward and looking forward? Scanning. You look at them constantly, in rotation, as part of being safe and aware on the road.
