Thanks for the replies. It's not clear what all is included with the new engine. I did ask my service advisor for a copy of the parts order as well as what will need to be carried over. Will see what he says. If you look at the parts picture it appears all belt driven accessories and covers are included, but then there's a description note that says some of the covers and other parts are not included...

Also, it's a large Jeep dealership that has done many engine swaps. The service advisor and I have a good relationship, I don't make things difficult for him (hound him everyday or make outrageous demands) and he looks out for my best interest. Guess I'm one of the rare occurrences of having a good dealership nearby.

It will be a long block. In fact, they just released a new cheaper and more bare part for the engine replacement.

You should probably go ahead and replace your radiator.

I personally wouldn't replace anything. Why spend money on parts you might not need to replace for 100k miles? That's just throwing money away.

If it's still under warranty, you're covered anyway right?

Me seeing this post with a 2018 JL with the 3.6 and 47k miles ?
Same here within a couple thou. However One could ask did the HWY driving have a lot or somewhat frequent stop start events because of EES. Sitting in traffic frequently that the engine didn't get enough air flow. I feel this is just one of those rarity events that dont conform to our driving habbits or its a fairly marginal error for the 3.6 because they are in so many other models.

I bet you a dollar it had a coolant leak.

Blown head gasket from over pressurization. They think it may have been a pre-ignition issue. Head got warped and there may have been bearing damage as well. They didn’t tear that far down, warranty approved replacing the entire engine based on the head warping. Apparently the aluminum block can warp easily too so they didn’t chance replacing just the head only to have me bring it back with block or bearing issues…costing them more money.
That makes a lot sense. Pre-ignition causes carbon buildup which can cause a blown head gasket. I've been running 93 octane to avoid the pre-ignition.
