Looking good, appreciate the updates. Is there any backing plate to what I can see in the c-pillar brackets? Or is it just nuts & flat washers on the backside of the panel there?

Also, good idea with the body mount bolts! I’ve been lucky with them but your idea makes sense and I will use it next time I need to break a factory glued in one out.

Behind the C-Pillar plate are some welded together nuts. It's part of the kit. You have to fit the nut plates through the hole and line everything up.

I found that it's the easiest for the body bolts. The induction heater works, too, of course, but I don't get it out unless I absolutely have to.

Ok, so this was a frustrating day of attempting to drill holes into this factory cage material. It's so incredibly hard. I broke so many bits and this process of drilling 10 holes for the inserts destroyed about 15 bits. There are a couple videos to follow the pics. With that said, the A-Pillar insert design is phenomenal. It's a lot if work, but definitely worth it. Now... time to start putting tubes together.

I've got a valve adjustment job on a Aprilla RSV4 to do tomorrow, so I won't get back to the cage until next weekend. That's ok though. I need a break after today.

I can definitely see why this JL cage costs 1000 more than the JK cage. I was pretty sour about the cost difference but having installed the JK cage and seeing your detailed pics of the JL cage, the mounting points are entirely different and much better.

Thanks man. Yeah, this cage's landing plates are leaps ahead of what they did with the JK. I'm pretty impressed with how intricate this kit is. I'm curious to see how all the interior pieces are going to look once they're all trimmed up. GenRight said they put in a lot of engineering time to make it look more factory that any other cage they have. The finished product should be super nice.

First weld went in. Plug weld for the A and D pillar tubes. Starting to lay everything in place. I’m tellin’ ya… the key ways and having this go together like a puzzle feels like cheating. Lol

Regarding your comment about interior fitment of factory plastics. I’ve ridden in Tony’s Jeep Aftershock, and it’s definitely clean. It still feels like you’re in a JL, not a tube buggy.

I can certainly do that. I'm definitely not a videographer. Lol. I think it takes YouTube some time to process the HD versions. I'm probably posting them too quick so they're only in SD. There's one more coming where it'll be upright. Lol.
