Rats, I thought if I went $50, instead of $100--nobody would UNDERCUT me--

Shows ya how much I know about selling JEEP TETHERS !

You really have to sharpen your pencil if you want to succeed in the high paced, competitive world of short tethers.

What kind of warranty are you offering? Are there any financing options? Experienced sellers would have included these details. It's not just about low prices. :cwl:

It was a job more in line with my PREVIOUS QUALLIFICATIONS--

I simply flip it over the lid and out of the way. No big deal but only car I have that doesn’t have a simple holder.
Something is off on the OP picture. That seems either too short or stuck like @Sean K. says.
Agreed. kind of annoying no hook to hang it on!

Funny you should ask. When I go over to NJ for other reasons, I tend to fill up there because gas is cheaper than in NY, and Jersey mandates that gas must be filled by an attendant.

===

Anecdote: the other day a young lady pulls her vehicle up to a pump near the one I'm using (in my NY.) She has California tags and I can see she's confused (this is State, NOT gender based ignorance) that she's not able to get gas to flow without holding on to the squeeze trigger.

"New to NY," I ask with a smile. Different States, different gas fill up requirements, as I explain to her that NY requires dead man switches (i.e. must be attended during refill) on gas nozzles.
While we are talking about gas caps, tethers, dead man switches, and such...here is a gas pump/Jeep mod that will make that easier for you during NY Fillups and can stop the cap from getting in the way at the same time.

(Satire: never do this.)

Yeah, sigh, but between the gas cap tether and those stupid rules I see at my nearby stations about not using the gas cap to keep the gas flowing, I just usually stick my lit cigarette in that space.;)

Sometimes it collapses; other times the gas station explodes. What can I say: every action comes with some risk.;)

I spin the tether to the 11 o'clock position, then toss the cap over the side of the fuel door.

When it's this short, that doesn't work for me.

You know, they make 15 to 25 different TYPES picture hangers in the HOME IMPROVEMENT WORLD--

I put a clear plastic (1") tall hanger on DBL back tape on the lower flat section of the gas cap door(about (5:00 o'clock) and the TETHER WILL "JUST HANG OVER THAT"--That'll save any paint/wax, from any deterioration--

Too dark for any pics-

Steve, the funny thing for me here is that your satire is actually sound advice for MOPAR.

I bought the more expensive factory key matching locking cap, which is pricey.

I "booked an OR" to perform the surgery to configure it:

And it features a pre "brittlized" (i.e. to make brittle; easy to break) tether that broke off with about 3 uses.

"Hey Mister, go use the adult urinals! Quit hogging up the kid's one! I gotta go!!"

"Son, I occupy the child's one precisely because neither my height, nor my "tether" is too short.";)

===

Two men sitting on the side of a dock doing that which often accompanies the consumption of "12 beers.";)

One confidently says to the other, "boy is the water cold!"

The other retorts with subdued but greater confidence, "and deep too!";)

I've had locking caps on other vehicles, I can't be bothered with it, as I'm loving that I don't have to take my key out of my pocket. Push button start rocks :rock:

Besides, if someone is interested in stealing my gas, just let me know times are that tough before you decide to do it and I'll buy you a sandwich and a coffee, instead of spilling gas everywhere and with a potential for an explosion or setting themselves and my vehicle on fire.....

Wait a second....the short tether may be an excellent gas theft deterrent, since the would be thief will get really frustrated :swear: with the cap being in the way! :cwl:

If I were to do a locking cap (I don't bother, no teenagers around me), it would be to prevent people from putting stuff in, not taking stuff out. Siphoning gas is silly but not the end of the world, it's when people (normally kids) are malicious without realizing their little pranks can cause engine failure.

I hear ya Steve. But for me, not that I know anyone tempted to do this to me, it ain't simply the gasoline they may take out: siphon deterrents and all, it's the deliberate crap they may pour in to destroy an engine.

Native NYer, what can I say?;):)
