Sorry to revive a dead thread, but my JLU Sahara just crested 5,000 miles and the hard top squeak where the rear alignment pins are is unbearable. I drive with the latches undone or the radio up. But, if I'm trying to talk to someone I cant stand it. I've already tried re-aligning the tops and tightening/loosening the hardtop. HELP!

Thanks!
Did you try to lube the weather seals with 303? Does it start squeaking because temp is cold now?

Anyway, your best chance now is probably talk to dealer, that is what warranty for.

I haven't used that yet. and no, it started squeaking as soon as i had the entire top off the first time.

Mine started to squeak after taking the full top off too. My squeak wasn't coming from the freedom panels; as it turned out, I had to re-tighten the bolts on the sport bar that hold the hardtop down.

I’ll do as fatboy suggested. I’ll wait til it gets warm and I’ll reseat the panels. If it nothing changes then I’ll take it to the dealer. Don’t really care much for the misalignment, it’s just the squeak is annoying.
Being in the New York area in winter, you could be Waiting a very long time . . . suggestion > If you have a garage or access to one for (at least a few hours) . . . put inside, remove the panels turn on the heat or if non, a decent portable heater (rent or borrow or buy if needed) ! IF your doing in your own garage, take the time at lower temps so no remote possibility of anything warping ! Just a thought. I am a Renter who has also the garage (no access to heat other than portable) and only electric is via the overhead door - remove the light and insert plug adapter; pain in the arse ! Gee if only I could afford a house ! ? Ha !

Old thread but I just got this same issue on my 2021MY. It had no issues until I took the freedom panels off for the first time yesterday and after putting them back on last night, creaking started.
Right after installing them back on last night, they seemed okay (at least I didn’t hear anything). But there is a good amount of creaking coming from the freedom planets this morning. I’ve narrowed it down to somewhere around the driver side freedom panel, to the back right side clamp. When I undo that single clamp, the creaking disappears. The bolts on the clamp are already super tight. The only solution is lubing it up?

I have had this happen as well.

Keeping the bolts tight and conditioning the seals worked like champ. There is a product called Shin-Etsu that Honda recomends to lubricate and condition their sunroof seals.

Turns out, it works great on Jeeps, too

Online at several places, about $20/tube. Use gloves and work it into the seals with your fingers. Rub off excess after about 20 minutes and put the Freedom Panels back on.
