Freedom Panel Storage Bag Missing

Hi all,

I'm a newbie here and my thread probably shows it. The answer I'm looking for is more than likely somewhere on the forums, but for the life of me, I can't find it. Here goes:

Does the Freedom Panel Storage bag come with the JL Sahara, with hard top only?? When I took possession of my Sahara, I mentioned it to the dealer (the next day of course) and was told that the Freedom Panel Storage bag comes only if I ordered the dual top group. When I bought my JK in the past, with only the hard top, I did get the panels storage bag so I was hoping that would be the same. Also, what about recall U25? is that a real thing? My JL falls right in line with that recall with the date of manufacture and the MDH number.

Anyways, I feel I'm being given a bit of the runaround by the dealer who says that only the dual top group comes with the Freedom Panel storage bag, but a Sahara that comes standard with the hard top doesnt?? I'd like to see what the JL community thinks.

It comes with the hard top. Check your window sticker and show it to the dealer.

I got only the hardtop and it came with the storage bag.

It comes with the hardtop. If you got a hardtop you should have one, if not then then dealer owes you one. Someone probably took it out to clean it up before handing you the keys and forgot to put it back.

Now, for a soft top or dual top group that gives you a soft top, the soft top window bag is an additional item ($).

Of note- I had a “recall” because some hard tops didn’t get one. Check your vin and if so, they order one for you.

My hardtop only was supposed to come with a freedom top bag but didn't. It was subject to a campaign (non-safety-related recall) and my dealer was only able to order one bag per week. When I went in for the software update recall they gave me my bag.

Hi, I’m in the same boat and still waiting response from my dealership.

New JLU SAHARA owner as well. One week already!
