Anyone know which paint (rattle can) works best to match factory frame black? Low glosss, semi gloss, flat?
Looking to do some rust touch up but I don’t want it to look mismatched like a leopard or trying to hide something.

I’ve used the semi gloss a few times on the frame for rust protection and after grinding certain areas. They may look a bit glossy if you pay very close attention honestly but it does the job well.

Any updates on this? I used Rustoleum before but I have a can of Semi-gloss and flat black at home. I remember one can matching perfectly. Now I can't remember which one I used.

This is on the outside of the frame rail so I'd like to try to make it match!

It's not the flat.

I promise I'm not trying to be a jerk... but who else is going to be under your Jeep, looking at your frame and judging you if the various sheens of black don't match exactly???

Just pick one and spray a spot. If it doesn’t match, spray it again with the other one.

I just sprayed the front of my frame with Rust-Oleum satin black and it is much more shiny than the rest of my frame.

Fair enough. Here is a pic. You can see my tape line running vertically across the hole in the frame. To the right is Rustoleum Satin Black. To the left is the factory paint on the frame. It isn’t a perfect match and would look better if you feathered it in rather than taping it off.
