Good Evening everyone! I have a 2021 wrangler with the ecodiesel with 86k on it. A couple of weeks ago I started to see smoke coming from the right front wheel well along with a burning oil smell. My stealership here is so backed up! It would be several weeks to get it looked at. But if I wanted to leave it until then would be ok! What a joke! A week or so after that I got a CEL with a P026D code I do believe. A different stealership said they could get to it the next day (Thursday). I heard nothing until Tuesday. Obviously, nothing was covered under my 5yr/100k powertrain warranty. According to them I needed a new upper CAC duct (hose) and a new catalytic converter. The hose was causing the CEL . And the converter mounting bracket had broke and caused a crack in the converter where the smoke and smell was coming from. I'll attach some photos! But the interesting thing is! With this being a Gen 3 ecodiesel, I was concerned about if the new design of the EGR system was still leaving garbage in the pan clogging up the oil pump screen. So, doing my oil change tonight, I couldn't help my self! I pulled the lower oil pan off. Looking up at the screen, it was like new, Clean. I thought ! Amazing! I glanced into pan. Again, looked clean for 86k! I crawled from under jeep and took a closer look into the pan! This is what was interesting! See photos! Good Night All!

Maybe the person that assembled the engine tossed it in there just to give you a scare. Or he was looking to get fired.

You might consider checking your emissions warranty. “Catalytic Converters” are covered for 8 years or 80,000 miles. The cracked bracket has been showing up quite a bit recently.

A good dealer will go to bat for you when you’re that close to the mileage limit.

I don't think we have any of those dealers in Texas! If we do! I haven't found one!
