Is this a feature that Tazer could add if they were so inclined? [actuated with combinations of the steering wheel buttons] Occasionally there are times when I am oh so close to 80% and it would be handy to pick the time that's good for me. And, yes, I know that that is a little OCD.

If it can be done with a scan tool, it can be done with a Tazer.

When I looked into how it might be reverse engineered... the number one obstacle in figuring that out wouldn't have been in getting a scan tool that's capable of forcing a regen (that's a matter of price point). The hard part would be having a local diesel vehicle to capture the signal and test against. And then the rate at which you could repeat testing. And then knowing enough about diesel engines to know what kind of restrictions you need to put around the feature. A bit of an investment there.

Your request seems totally within the realm of possibilities, and I'd love to see it happen for you guys!

Do you make too many short trips on the road?
If you're on the highway over a certain speed for enough time, it will regen all on its own.

I have interrupted multiple regens since owning the diesel and it’s never given me the “continue driving” message. Just drive it like it was a gas Jeep, it will take care of itself. Drove like that with my 2015 Cummins and do the same with the 3.0L diesel.

Do a little experimenting on your own. Interrupt a regen and see what the DPF says the next time you drive it. I’m betting the DPF soot percent will be low enough not to trigger another regen.

Almost all shop hops - hence the desire to exert some control and not interrupt active regens. That said, I have taken some long, high-speed trips and my experience is that meaningful passive regen is just short of an urban legend. It drops, but at glacial speed (if even that quickly).

Maybe if I drove 80mph, up a steep grade, pulling a heavy trailer, with the emergency brake on. :)

In any case, I don't mind frequent active regens, I just want them (somewhat) on my schedule.
