You can de-tension or remove the spring on a stock fob and you will no longer have this happen.

Do we really need the fob to be as big as this one. None of my other current car/truck fobs is as big as the one for my 2025 Wrangler. I would have much rather it not take up that much space in my pocket.

Yes, it's stupidly big. Get one of the aftermarket fobs that @Rhinebeck01 mentioned.

Note that other manufacturers do the same thing. This is the key to my niece's BMW Z8.

I haven’t been able to carry keys in my pocket for years. I have to use a belt ring deal.

Between 2 vehicles, home, property gates, tool boxes and such it’s gotten ridiculous.

Replace your stock fob with an aftermarket fob .... choose either an AJT Designs or a Threedom fob.

Easy to do and not all that expensive to do..

Both fob offerings are very nice and yes the physical size of these two aftermarket fobs is way less then the factory fob.

I just ordered one of these smaller Threedom fobs for my JL. Now I'm a little confused as to am I just getting a shell (case) without the guts and have to swap out the innards from my stock fob to it...........or will the new fob be complete and just needs programming to work with my Jeep.

You will need to take the circuit board and RFID chip from one of your stock fobs and move them to the Threedom fob. Not hard to do. Yes, the process is reversible as there is no damage done to the stock fob.

Threedom sends you a little Torx driver and a black screw along with the fob.

I've had Threedom for years now on a few Jeeps and its been great.

Here’s my solution.(I assume this is what Jeep engineers had in mind.)

Obviously an AI fake because '18-23 JL's were only rated to tow 3500 lbs.

Jeep gave us huge key fobs so we can use them as winching anchor points. They were just looking out for us that’s all.

Totally agree. I've been using one of these for at least 30-years.

For sure a reasonable solution but it can be very (over done). There is a mechanic at a shop where I get my inspections done and oil changes but I don't want this guy near my rides.
He has a chain hanging from his belt with keys, etc. on it and there they are dangling right against the hood and/or fender of some customers car while he is working under the hood.
