Just ask @cosine he knows!
I bought that one too and HATED it. Would bend back and whip against my pass side window at 70mph. Super annoying. Took it off and cut down the stock one then painted it black.
Interesting, haven't had that problem w/ mine

I emailed and called them to see if that’s normal and they never got back to me, so not impressed with them or their product at all. Thankfully only $15 so that’s like 3 beers, I’ve wasted more on dumber stuff.

here is the 7” version. Better reception on the 13”?
@jeepster2

Anyone that says they do not get de-gradated AM/FM reception when using a true stubbyAm/FM antenna is kidding themselves.

Anyway, DO buy your antenna at amazon.com and do chose a vendor that fits this description..."ships and sold by Amazon" or "sold by xxxxxxxx and fulfilled by amazon". Hopefully you are a Prime member and have free shipping. Do this and you can easily return an antenna that does not perform as you wish and then you can buy/try another.

Regardless of the antenna you buy you will probably take some Am/FM signal degradation. Of course, XM is not affected.

That is most definitely incorrect, unless you never leave the city. Long distance reception is severely reduced.
I live In DC, but I make frequent trips to and drive around in BFE, Maine, not on the 95 corridor. It still works. Sometimes it’s not my genre, but it gets it. FM is a weak signal; simple propagation, wavelength, and frequency—physics impede long range reception more than the simple antennas, their height, diameter, etc. that we can select from.

It is limited by physics but primarily of the receiving antenna. FM radio waves are 3 meters. You will get the best reception with a 3m antenna, but that is infeasible. Half height and quarter height also work well. The stock antenna is quarter wanelength height. The smallest antenna that will still work well.

This antenna is an odd sized 1/9th wavelength. It will work with a strong signal but it will not be capable of tuning in medium to weak signals. Especially since so much of that antenna is so close to the body of a Jeep, which will absorb radio waves.

You will get the same reception with a good sized antenna in a bad location as you will with a stubby antenna in a good location. You can only get away with a stubby if you are in an area with a good FM signal.

Looks good on there! Be sure when you clean/wax your JL to also clean use a protectorant on the antenna to keep it looking new...

Was going to ask you ... do you have a 4 button fob. Do you have Proximity? LED lighting on your Rubi?

Yes, yes, and yes.

Already clayed and 2 coats of Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray Coating.

Sprayed down door handles, hood louvers, area around wipers, side mirrors, etc.

I guess all Jeepers get something different out of Jeeping. We enjoy Jeeping as it reflects the Florida lifestyle even though we don't have rocky trails to climb. I don't have any particular desire to go rock climbing, just as much as someone who enjoys rock climbing may not enjoy cruising A1A with the windows out and top back.

I think the duck thing is a bit cute as everybody likes being noticed. My buddy told me after we bought our Jeep, "you just joined a cult". Now that we've been ducked, my wife wants to start doing it.
Did same one except with a little red bling :)
