So for the last 2 years I have been following everyone's builds and the fun you all have had with your JL's. I have been patiently waiting ever since the announced the diesel was going to be an option. Since this was going to be my first ever Jeep I figured why not make it a diesel. Here is my build:rock:

2020 JLUR
3.0l Ecodiesel
8sp Auto
Punk'n Metallic
Dark Saddle Leather
Steel Bumper
Safety Group
8.4" Uconnect w/alpine
LED
Tow Pkg
Cold weather
Body color fenders
Black Hard Top
Proximity locks

I have been waiting so long I can't believe that it is finally almost happening :jk:

I have been told that production won't ramp up until end of November so when can I realistically track my order how long after order is placed before I hear from Jeep or is it just from my dealer?

First off, verify that your salesperson submitted it as a "Sold Order". The factory prioritizes those over "Dealer Orders", which are for inventory on dealer lots.

Next step after your order is successfully submitted is you get a VON (Vehicle Order Number) from your salesperson, but you should call them about that because I'm not sure if that's available before production or not.

Once you get the VIN, you can start bugging jeep chat for build updates. They are accessed through the jeep website. You can also register your VIN and email address with the Window Sticker and Build Sheet Tracker, found at the very top of the tracking subforum.

Congratulations!

You should have before Christmas! For reference, I ordered my Sport S on 10/1, and it went into shipping last Thursday at 10/10 and supposed to arrive at the dealer before the end of the month. Super quick!

You have a 3.6 or 2.0? Those are currently being built the rumor i have heard is that the 3.0 production isnt going to start until 23 Nov. Now I cant confirm it 100% but i have been told from several sources. I am not sure as far has their Holiday schedules at the factory so we will see. It would be nice, but I wont stress it if its later.

Congratulations, Joe Cwu21, and welcome to the :jk: family!

Once you've done the things recommended in post #2 above, and you start tracking your order at https://fcacommunity.force.com/Jeep/s/knowledge , be sure and ask the Jeep Chat person for the alphanumeric status code; if you don't, they may just give you a "canned response".

Caution: checking your build status is fun (and addicting!), but can lead to frustration if yours gets stuck in "I" or "JB" for awhile (it happens). :headbang:

Also, be aware that after your build is past KZ status, you will have to rely on your dealer for Traffic (shipping) info. The following is not a complete list of the alphanumeric codes.

BX - good order available for scheduling
BD - special equipment processing
BE - edit error - coding error which must be corrected
BG - order passes edit but cannot be scheduled
F - finance hold - auto cancel after 15 days
B - model or option build out
L - material restriction
M - material hold (fleet)
ZA - canceled order

C - tentative schedule
D - firm schedule, serial number assigned
D1 - gateline; unit sequenced for production, estimated ship date assigned (but don't believe it) ;)
E - framing
F - paint
G - trim
I - unit built, pending final inspection
J - passed final inspection
JB - sent to body vendor (added options installed)
JE - sent to emissions
JJ - assigned to body vendor
JS - sent to storage
KZ - released by plant and invoiced

KZ + additional letters and/or numbers - “traffic” (shipping/other disposition) codes

So for the last 2 years I have been following everyone's builds...
Punk'n Metallic
Dark Saddle Leather
Congrats! Your build is identical to mine save for mine having the 3.6/manual and being Firecracker Red.

I think the Dark Saddle Leather will look awesome with Punk'n Metallic.

Congrats! I think you are right about the Dark Saddle Leather...I looked at it for mine and it just didn't look as good with Black as the Tan Saddle from 2019.

My issue was they changed the dash in 2020 so Punkn now had the red dash with black interior. I was on the fence before until I realized that. Luckily the dealer had a gladiator on the lot with the saddle and I love it I think it's going to look great.

Darrell thanks for the great info, I already checked on my status this morning it is pending. They told me that the dealer put my order in and in a few days I should see some movement. Maybe I'll see you out on the trails here when I get it :like:

Yes, because like I said, the factory prioritizes customer orders (sold orders). I only made that recommendation because a lot of members here waited very long due to their salesperson submitting their order as a dealer order.

Congratulations! My 2020 JL Willys order went in October 11. It’s in D1 now. Jeep chat told me to follow up at the end of next week. Of course I’m not going to wait til week end, I’ll promptly bug them first thing Monday :giggle:
