Has anyone done their routine maintenance- oil changes , tire rotations, 20,000-30,000 45,000 miles etc recommended services at an independent mechanic and when something happens to require warranty work, did you have problems with jeep covering the costs of the repairs because you did all the routine maintenance with an independent mechanic?
Debating if I should go to dealer for a 20,000 service or go to my independent mechanic. He won’t do warranty work as he had bad experience with Jeep reimbursing him. Thanks for your insights..

I have a 2020 JLUR with 57k miles which I have the extended powertrain warranty on until 2029 or 89k miles. I do all my own maintance myself and back in January I had the water pump went craps. Didn't feel like messing with it so took it in and dealer replaced it. Total bill was $1990 and most of it was labor and working around all the offroad stuff I installed that was in their way. Whatever but all it cost me was the $100 deductible

It depends on who the warranty is through. The Magnuson Act allows you to use whoever you want to perform maintenance and service, including yourself. However, read your warranty contract!!

I had a third party extended warranty that replaced an engine and all I paid was my $100 deductible. But per the warranty contract I had to provide all receipts for oil changes, which I did myself. The contract was specific that receipts were required, a maintenance log wasn't sufficient.

Bottom line, know what the contract says and keep all records and receipts.
