Extended Seat Options

After owning my Jeep since January and not being able to drive it comfortably and waiting and getting no response from any of the bracket companies i decided to take matters into my hands, I had my buddy who can do custom fab work lower my seat probably two inches as well as move it ALOT, I cant even drive it all the way back! its so nice now to be able to drive this thing and not feel like i'm squished in a sardine can. Im 6'8" and 300lbs. i will take some pics and post them.

neilsjoshn: any chance your buddy might be interested in selling a few extra brackets? That said I haven't even order my JL yet so I'm not quite ready to pull the trigger so no rush, just curious

Please do. After 3 separate test drives, I feel that I can live with the stock seat position for now - well enough to order.

Moving the seat back and lowering a couple of inches would be icing on the cake. With the changes made will the seat still raise up/slide forward enough for someone slightly shorter? Making sure that full range of travel is still available, just starting further back/lower.

any more updates from anyone? i emailed extendmyseat.com and they said that extensions were available for presale. Then they said that the extension will not drop the seat, but that they tested the bracket and the sound bar would not be an issue because as you slide back, you lower yourself naturally (i'm not looking to clear the sport bar by 1/4"). then they said that the brackets were actually the same as the JK bracket and that the brackets work on both models.

the whole exchange was odd. think i'm going to just go with a local shop to fabricate brackets. would appreciate any updates from people looking to solve this issue. thanks.

New here. Just took a 450 mile trip in Sahara Unlimited. I am 6-2 270. I think if you could put a spacer under front of seats it would make it more comfortable. Won’t add room, but seats are way too flat.

Still looking for better options as they new brackets may allow a bit more seat travel but no drop. I'm going to keep looking but wanted to check in to see if anyone else had found anything better.

I'm not really sure how you could drop the seat any at all. The inside rail sits on the floor so you really can't go down with it.
