I have a 2019 JL Unlimited Sahara with a few mods. I have only done 12k miles so was going to switch for a new JL but really don't need to spend the extra. That said, I'm using the car more frequently now and find the front seats are not that comfortable on longer journeys. Has anyone replaced the front seats for something with more under-thigh support? If so, what did you switch to and how complicated was the change?

I remember @wibornz took his seats to an upholsterer to make them more comfortable for long drives. Don’t remember what is was that he got done though; hoping he remembers and chimes in!

Any good automotive upholsterer should be able to re-work your current seats to make them more to your liking. Several folks here have had more/better padding installed in their factory seats. This way you avoid the potential fitment/fabrication issues and you keep the original aesthetics.

I have thought about that. Apart from anything else my seats have the side airbags which is obviously a useful safety enhancement and all the sensors. I will have to see what I can find in the area.

I dropped mine off at a local Upholsterer shop at 10 am and had the Seats back by 3 PM. Dropped off the Jeep. He pulled the seats and replaced the factory foam with as much memory gel foam cushions as he could fit into the factory seat cover. They are way more comfortable. I have done multiple 16 hour days back to back and my longest day so far has been 21 hours in the Jeep in one day. It cost me $700. Worth every penny.

Another option is the Seat Slammers from Desert Does It. If you're tall they also lower the seat a bit to give more headroom, but a lot of people love the extra thigh support you also get. I'm selling a new kit that I decided not to install as I decided I'm happy with my seating position.

X2 on the seat slammers for thigh support. I tried the seat jackers first, but being 6'4" the seat slammers were the better solution to keep my head out of the sound bar.
