Hi smarter people than me.

I am currently in the middle of doing a solo spring swap/Bump Stop addition. I currently have the springs out, and have the shocks in, trying to measure how much bump stop I need. I currently have 2 inch bump stops on the front, but have ran out of wood blocks and jack right as the bump stop is contacting the jounce. It appears I have about hair more than 2 inches of shock travel left, and a hair less than 2 inches of Jounce before the hard metal. I was wondering if I could get your fine opinions on if I need to add more or less bump stop? The faster the better please I’ve got the jeep in the air and everything lol.

Just going by the pics, looks like you’ll have close to 1/2 , maybe 3/8” to the good…. Should be good..

The Factory bump stops can compress to the metal holders.
I suggest adding another 1/2" of spacers so the shock never bottoms out. I like to have a minimum of 1/2" of unused shock travel to protect the shocks from exceptionally hard hits. Metal flexes under heavy loading.
To check the travel once assembled, I place a small zip-tie on the shock's shaft to determine the actual travel and how close the shock comes to bottoming out.

If you decide you want another 1/2” and don’t have something already, I bought some hockey pucks off the amazon and made my own….you can get just one for 5.00. I ran mine through the table saw and drilled a hole in it, works great……

That’s a cleaner solution than what I did when I needed another 1/2” of bump up front. I just grabbed a black poly cutting board out of the cabinet and drilled out a 3.5” hole with a hole saw 😆

I’d leave it alone. The bump stops will compress. Mine are pushed so far in there’s only half inch of bump stop sticking out 😂

🤣…….. well that’s better than what I had on there before……. It was a 3/4” nut, which, surprisingly, is right at a 1/2” thick…. 😂….
