FWIW, I live in the wet side of Oregon, and my compressor is under the passenger seat.

But my air chucks are outside; one under the hood and one behind the fuel filler door.

Keep your doors wide open for all I care. All I was doing was offering others something to think about with lines having to run from inside the vehicle.

I got the Kraken along with 25ft extension hose kit, too.

Paired with Twin ARB, it inflates my tires MUCH faster than my previous method which was a Vair pump jumpered to my battery. I also like that it's not an extra box in the back taking up space, it's tucked nicely under the passenger seat. All of the components were of very high quality and the install was easy.

The only criticism I have of the system is that it is expensive for just being a couple brackets, and some hoses. I got the ARB Twin air pump for free, so paying a bunch for the install kit wasn't hard to justify.

If I had not got the pump for free, I would have stuck with the cheaper Viar pump in ammo can method I used to use.

Are you thinking that you have to keep the doors wide open when airing up? That's not the case.

No. I was exaggerating in my last statement. I’ve read the above comments about “only a crack”, I’ve seen the sales pitch influencer videos on YouTube, etc. I want my doors shut in the rain; others may also. That is all.

Fortunately you only have to open them twice since you're airing up all four at once. Like you said: while airing up they only have to be open a crack. I personally try to avoid rock crawling in the rain, but I don't live in / near a rain forest.

Question on using the 25' extension as an air-station.

Since the kraken doesn't use the small air accumulator tank ARB says that you are supposed to use (even for tires, as it says in the instructions), I assume that the tires themselves are being used to take stress off the pumps.

If you are using the 25' extension, is it important to connect to the tire, then turn the pump on, then pump off, then disconnect? Should we not use it like a gas-station pump, where you attach an in-line gauge/valve and start stop the flow of air with the valve?

When I'm wheeling I want to be enjoying the elements. If it is a downright storm, I find something else to do.

When connecting (Kraken) you use the QC at each tire as the hubs at each door side don't have shutoffs. But this is good as it self levels the pressures.

I used my Kraken this past weekend in the OBX for some beach driving and it was awesome. I aired up all 4 of my tires and all 4 of my daughters tires (2 at a time with her having to move her jeep to the other side of my jeep to fill up the other 2) in the same amount of time it used to take me to refill my tires 1 at a time at a fill station.

I've personally talked to the guys at Epic (creators of the Kracken) and what they bring to the design table in terms of 'tried it in all sorts of extreme conditioins' is better than most companies that just design based on drawings or limited conditions. The Epic guys use and abuse everything they sell, install and design in all types of climate and conditions and very remote locations so they do know their stuff and what you want and don't want. I am planning to get my next lift, roof rack, and Kracken system from them without any doubts.

ARB's Pressure Control Kit in conjunction with a Kraken should be awesome. Apparently Epic is working on integrating the two.
After multiple attempts to get the add on pressure control unit ordered , (I was beat to the punch multiple times and they sold out in like a day each time) they shipped it quickly and I installed it with the help at a couple beers. I couldn’t be more proud to own what may be the most expensive system for airing up tires to ever be mounted in a jeep. Damn it is sweet. Just let it go and it stops at whatever you have it set to. Love it. Thank you Epic Nerds! Now I’d like an add on tank that’ll pump to 90psi too. if that is possible.
