I recommend the 2.0 if you can get it. You won’t be disappointed. It’s got plenty of pep; it really jumps off the line. And now that nice weather is here, I’m running my two door doorless, topless, and backseatless right now (as in my profile pic) so pretty light weight, and it has become a fricken rocket off the line, even with slightly bigger tires. Really fun to drive! ?

Looks like the 3.6 without the e-torque. I mis-read the transcribed voicemail and thought she wasn't getting the 3.6 at all. Either way, if it's not exactly what you ordered, or want, you can always cancel. Manufacturers off all products are being significantly affected by supply-chain issues. If you want to be angry, direct your anger where it should be - the policy makers that made decisions that led to this issue.

I would imagine the 3.6. There are several people who posted this week they had a Sahara Altitude and Jeep called them to switch the 3.6E torque with the regular 3.6.
Here’s another person that just posted:

I’m Not angry at all, just trying to figure out what im Getting and what the difference would be. If I don’t want it I will cancel with my dealer, just hadn’t heard back from them yet so wanted to know if anyone had got the call and knew exactly what they were replacing it with. Thanks!

Sorry, I was replying to another post that said something along the lines of it’s ridiculous for Jeep to be switching engines on an order, or something to that effect. Didn’t mean to imply you (OP) was angry with the situation?

We have the regular 3.6 without the E-Torque, I generally disable the ESS before I even leave the driveway. Never been a fan of the start/stop systems, there’s no way that’s healthy for an engine.

New member here, but I've been lurking for a while. eTorque is a $1250 option on the 3.6, so looks like they are downgrading you to the regular 3.6 and crediting you the $1250.

I have eTorque on my Ram 5.7L and I have to say that I think it's largely worthless. I see no impact to mileage. Really all it seems to do is improve the startup a little when start/stop cuts the engine. And compared to the 2.0L Wrangler I test drove a few weeks ago, my eTorque is much more aggressive about shutting off at stop lights. I'd rather keep the engine running, so I preferred the 2.0L start/stop experience.

If I had the choice I'd skip it and would be glad to save $1250.
One of the very reasons I chose not to get the 3.6 eTorque: no overall Cost Benefit in my book, plus the extra electrical elements that support eTorque can be a hassle at times. I already deal with enough with the ESS on my 2.0. Thankfully the Auto Start Stop Eliminator Harness is hooked up from the get go.

Same here. Less failures, and up front costs.

Not sure I'd want the 3.6 w/o eTorque. The 3.6 in my JT is exactly the reason I'm going with the 2.0T in my new JLR build. While it's not 'bad', I will say it's only adequate. It's down on power to help with longevity and reliability, especially on the trail. That's great and again, while it's not bad for a DD, it's just sort of meh.

The eTorque from what I've read applies extra rotational force for the first 1/4 turn of the wheels while restarting the engine from a stop. Not sure I can say that will do much but I've read places in this forum where people tout it as feeling much better. Other's begrudge it because it's '1 more thing to fail'. Honestly with the complexity of the engines and whole vehicle itself nowadays is that 1 part really that big of a deal? It's not like you're driving something bulletproof that's guaranteed for 20yrs except this 1 Achilles Heel that rattles a lot and is wrapped in duct tape...

If you haven't test driven a 2.0 yet, you really should. It's honestly no slouch whatsoever. This Engine really hauls for its size, especially thru the Trails. Spending some time here and there exploring under the Hood of mine, it's not as bad as many people think. Besides the plethora of Cooling Lines, as well as some of the extra electrical bits, it's still a "simple" Inline 4 Cylinder with a Turbo attached.
