I was an early 2020 Bronco reservation, 2021 order, then 2022 order and then 2023 order. My Bronco email mailbox has more than 70 emails. I still have an order out there I think. I'll never get one because I have a lot of constraints. And I'm 462 in line at a dealer who gets 5-12 Broncos a month.

But I don't care. because in June 2021, I couldn't wait any longer and I bought a 2dr JL.

I have no intention of getting rid of my Jeep or buyng a Bronco. I'm just playing along to see when Ford says your Bronco is ready. Then I'll cancel.

Like above, I was a Bronco order that never came to fruition. As Such, I purchased my first Jeep in July (High Velocity High Tide). I don't even LIKE the look of the Bronco now. So glad this debacle happened. I'm a new Jeep Loyalist now. I have had Fords for the last several vehicles. Not only did they lose THIS sale, but all following.

Never drove one, but always liked the looks of the FJ. I would have given one a test drive if they had been available when I ordered the Jeep.
You would have fallen in love, I guaranty you. I did test drive one in 2013 and absolutely loved the ride and drive. But my daughter was entering her teens and I knew I'd have a lot of rides here and there to give. So that back little suicide door for the rear passenger killed the deal as the front passenger had to open his/her door and unbuckle to let the rear passenger in or out which was ridiculous....So I ended up buying a 10A JKUR and the ride never compared. Good chance the JL ride a lot better than the JK cause I'd currently be driving something else.

Had the FJ had 4 normal doors, I would have bought it no questions.

Geez, there are more Bronco orderers on this forum than I would have guessed.

This entire thread should be renamed “Confessions of a Bronco Reservation Holder: My Coming Out Story.” ?

I admit the Bronco’s ad campaign after announced got me interested in a 4x4 again. I’d been driving Subarus to the bike trail and to my fly fishing streams; they were well suited to what I was asking of them.

But I used to drive a Jeep CJ7, and I knew some (limited) things about off-roading, rock crawling specifically. And the new Bronco ain’t the original Bronco; it’s a Ford Ranger with a proper back seat. And that wasn’t going to cut it for me. So I bought the JLUR because Moab’s trails were calling. I saw so many Jeeps out on the rocks while biking, and I got the itch again.

When I engage 4 wheel drive, it’s almost always to get over something that requires high ground clearance, and that would destroy most other vehicles. Bronco can get through most of what I do, but JL does it so much better, and with way more finesse. It’s the right tool for the job I ask of it, and there’s currently no other vehicle available where I live that shares the suspension/axle architecture that makes the Jeep so superior. Literally every other 4x4 is IFS, or a gigantic truck that’s hobbled due to its size.

When I go into 4WD, it’s never to try to blast through anything. Desert running does not appeal to me. Mud bogging doesn’t appeal either. I like to crawl, and try to work my vehicle through an obstacle that most would. assume vehicles shouldn’t be able to pass. And right now, in the new vehicle market, Wrangler has no equal there, at least not in the USA.

So the Bronco was never actually an option for me.

One thing I like about the Bronco’s. I love manual transmissions and that MT88 with the crawl gear is brilliant.

The rest of it, not really my cup of tea. I was intrigued enough to contact a dealer last year and they said order banks not open. Try back in a month. I never did, but just got an email last week the order banks will finally open late March.

If that’s not foreshadowing of things to come…. ?

I was/am a reservation holder of exactly what you said. Badlands, Sasquatch, Lux Package, Hard top. Went back to Jeep after waiting 10 months. Jeep should be here next week.

Regardless of the plusses and minuses of the two brands have to laugh at ANYONE who thinks the Ford dealer experience is going to be far better than the Jeep. They are both loathsome.

No the old Toyota Land Cruiser that you could smack the fender with a big hammer and it sounded more like hitting an anvil than sheet steel and tubing.
Not likely to happen but they were a hellified off road vehicle. Back in the day when men were men, ate lightning and crapped thunder......Notice the right hand steering, Brother inlaw imported this from down under. Not a single rust spot anywhere and runs like new.

Similar situation here. After a year of waiting for an August 2021 ordered 2dr badlands/lux/2.3 6 spd, I said screw it and ordered a Jeep in Aug 2022. Est ship date in two weeks.

I curious what will happen with the Bronco order (even though I doubt I will ultimately buy it)… looks like it won’t be made until at least 2024 with my build. What an absolute joke.

..... I don't even LIKE the look of the Bronco now. .....

I used to think that the 2 dr Bronco was the best looking vehicle out there. Even after I bought my JL in desperation.

But a few days ago at the gas station, for the first time I saw my JL at the same time as a 2 dr Bronco.

And then I realized that the JL is better looking than the 2 dr Bronco. And the 4 dr Bronco is hideous - its a lifted Ford Flex.

The Ford Bronco is helping sell Jeeps

A true statement.

Two years ago I went to the local Ford dealer and tried to order a 2 dr Black Diamond Bronco. Sales guy simply would not give me even a ballpark delivery date. 6 months? 12 months? He couldn't say. Told him if he wouldn't commit, neither would I.

Went half a mile down the road to the Jeep dealer and ordered a Wrangler the way I wanted it and less than 6 weeks later I drove it home.

I'm a happy camper.

My stepdaughter ordered a 4 dr Badlands Bronco. Took 12 months for delivery. But she's happy with it.
