Update from the dealer, and it is not good. They said they cannot get through the gateway module to read the computer. At this point they can’t diagnose what is wrong or read any of the codes. They left me a voicemail today, I have to get the details in the morning. I opened a case with Stellantis last week.

Not to moan but I really don’t know what to do here. I’m out of warranty and the meter is running on this thing.
@Rossp

Did you happen to by chance, remove a Tazer JL Mini and forget to reconnect the 2 connections at the Security Gateway?

That may be it. They asked me if I had a Tazer and i would think they would check under there?

IF, if the 2 connectors at the Security Gateway (SGW) were not reconnected the Service Departments, WiTechll will not be able to communicate through the SGW.

Who knows if the Tech would bother to look at the SGW connections. or know about them at that... to see if they were connected. Not all Techs have a clue let says.... it is unfortunate that I have to say that but...

Still no news. I have been getting the run around from both the dealership and Jeep Cares. Jeep Cares has been useless in trying to solve this or motivate the dealer. The dealer hasn’t called me back in 2 days and today told me to flatbed it to another dealer, they don’t want to be bothered with it. 2 weeks without a car and they can’t even tell me what’s wrong. Aside from yelling on the phone I don’t know what to do or what my options are.

What the heel kinda crap it that?!?! Seriously? Don't want to be bothered by it?!?! I'd be furious with the dealer, trying to pawn it on someone else. Any thing that can be done, like reporting the dealer to Stellantis (not that it would do much good)...

I spoke to two different reps at @JeepCares who offered no support and would not assist with my situation. They kept telling me to talk to my case manager who does not have a voicemail and does not answer the phone or return emails. Right now the dealer will not turn my vehicle over to me unless I pay them, when they haven’t even told me what’s wrong with it. Not to vent but I feel like I am being held hostage here.

I finally got the Jeep back today, after many phone calls. The issue was a bad wiring harness and loose ground. This is what’s on the report:

- connector WS6 was not seated and causing signal loss at circuit C3 and C4 near distribution location and C5 legacy connection

-Located open ground at ECM harness to connector 6.6, repaired connection

I spoke to Jeep Cares again, of course they did not offer anything in means of support or compensation for the bad wiring. It’s a bit of a (big) safety issue, I would have thought they would be a bit more forthcoming considering this is a known issue!

Well after a week of the Jeep being totally fine, I was leaving the driveway today and the same issue reappeared.

Back to dealership we go. Super annoying.

UPDATE 2: Everything has been fine for a few weeks since I replaced the battery. Behold, today, it happened again on my way home. First I got SERVICE SHIFTER warning pop up randomly at a light, and then as I was turning into my driveway the whole electronics freakout happened again and I lost power steering. So something more sinister than the battery is going on.
This is happening to my 2018 JLUR

Likely bad wiring. I called my dealership today and they have no openings to take the Jeep back. I reopened my case with Jeep Cares today. At this point I don’t feel safe driving it anymore.

Dealership refuses to take the Jeep back to look at it. Called Jeep Cares again, also of no help. Third call was to a lawyer.

Thank God I found this thread! I was on the highway and had all the electronic freakout things happen. When I got home, I push the unlock button and it starts the windshield wipers. Car wouldn't stop flashing idiot lights, headlights, making dinging noises-17,000 miles. Now it's dead. I had to pull all the fuses to stop the crazy electronic things that were happening. I took iPhone video of it happening. Especially the button to unlock the doors actually starting the windshield wipers. I miss my 1980 Ford Bronco. This is crazy. The UConnect system pushed through an update just prior to all of this funny business.

Update on my end. The Jeep has been back at the dealership for a week. They say they found one loose ground which may have been the issue. They’ve road tested it for two days and have not had a reoccurrence of the problem. As it stands now they are turning it back over to me.

I’d like to believe this is solved but I don’t trust it.

Well here we go again. 1.5 weeks later and the same problem is back. Almost caused an accident this time as it occurred as I was approaching a red light and lost control of the Jeep. Not sure what to do at this point!
