In today's age of technology and manufacturing, we just expect things to work. Buy a new vehicle at whatever price and it should be reliable enough to get you to work daily but unfortunately that is not the case even when purchasing a $100k Porsche or whatever. If I trade in my Honda Accord towards a JL, I need it to be reliable so I can commute to work. I can't afford to keep renting a vehicle while the JL is in the shop if the dealership does not provide a rental vehicle. I suppose that's why premium brands like Lexus, BMW will hopefully always provide a free dealer rental. Jeep I'm not sure about.

The other half of the equation is the dealership having the knowledge and parts to diagnose and fix the problem. I guess that is a concern when being an early adopter of a brand new model.

If the dealers don't provide a loaner for warranty repair work that's going to take more than a few hours that's crazy!!!

Around here they usually just provide shuttle service if it will only take one day.

Still haven’t heard from anyone, dealership has been worthless, only offering a rental and passing the problem off to FCA.

All I know is the part is supposed to arrive Friday.

I would almost guarantee you that the ECM is not the problem. Unfortunately, it is almost always the first step (because it is plug and play easy), but after problem persists, only then will the real diagnosis begin. And I SO HOPE I am completely wrong!!

Sorry to hear that. I can only imagine the immense frustration you feel. I hope your dealer makes it worthwhile by perhaps extending your warranty since this is an inexcusable failure on a car with 65 miles.

I was initially planning on trading in my car but I decided to sell it privately at the end of the summer. Just to be safe.

Looking like these things are going to be a computerized/electrical nightmare.
It seems the more computerized “stuff “ they’ve engineered into cars in general over the years has created a whole new set of problems to go along with them

Got the Jeep back last night! Took it for a spin, felt like it had a slight flutter when I pressed the gas, but maybe it was just in my head.

Finally examined it in the daylight this morning and noticed my tow hook is all scratched. Called the dealership, of course it's not their fault. They told me to call Jeep Roadside assistance, have them give me the name of the tow service they used, then I should call the towing company to recoup the cost of the scratch. Wow what great customer service.

Finally, drove it to grab a coffee this morning and the check engine like came back on. It did this moments before the Electronic Throttle control went out last time. I was close to home so I just parked it. I'm afraid to drive it and get stranded again. Called JeepCares (they were supposed to reach out to me by Thursday but never did), and they pretty much told me to park it until my case manager calls me Monday. My brand new car is in the shop and the first contact with customer service isn't until 9 days later!?

I've never been treated so poorly from multiple departments, people, and dealerships in my life! Every single person has blamed someone else.

C'mon @JeepCares, I know people are concerned with the release of Sting-gray, but I've got real problems over here.

What is the code for the check engine light? There must be a way to get the EVIC to spit it out. On my car you just have to wiggle the key back and forth between off and acc. But I don't know how you do it with a push button start.

(I know this is easy for me to say because it's not my jeep, but I wouldn't sweat the paint. Just get some touch up paint. It's just going to get scratched again anyways.)

This... right here is what makes me worried about purchasing. I know I know, jeeps have problems. But holy mackerel @100 miles!?)My dealers are pretty awful down here also. I can imagine the frustration. I had to deal with the dealers down here on my last Wrangler. Was a rough experience to say the least. Come on @JeepCares let’s help this fella out!
