Electronic Throttle Control System Malfunction: Towed JLUR

Fifteen minutes into my hour ride home from the dealership,my left channnel speakers went out, followed by my right. Rode the remaining way home in silence. Once I got her home and restarted the car, the speakers seemed to work fine.

My girlfriend and I decide to take it for a cruise around downtown Nashville, 5 miles from my house. As soon as we make it into downtown the car starts shaking and sputtering. Check engine light comes on, immediately after comes an Electronic Throttle Control error.

I connect to service through Uconnect and they send out a tow truck, but it can’t make it for 2.5 hours.

It’s raining. I’ve had my JLUR 2 hours, it has 65 miles one it, and now it’s being towed. I’m Ubering home.

I received a call early this morning from the dealership that it was towed. They'll let me know later today what's going on.

I am sorry to hear this. Makes me nervous a lil bit about purchasing atm. I love the Jeeps but the 02 TJ i had was a problematic nightmare, Had it 6 months and drove it 3....I want a new Jeep soooooo bad, they look so nice. Just dont wanna have to listen to the Old Man saying " Told you not to purchase another Jeepalopy Boy" Good Luck with this. Hope it just a sensor or something simple.

I feel you. I'm in the same boat. May have to keep my Honda Accord as a back up vehicle or just take a break from the JL forum so I'm blind to the problems.

And of course the part isn't available, won't arrive until 2/16.

Drove for an hour and spends a week in the shop, awesome.

Happened on Saturday night so didn’t even talk to the dealership until Monday morning. No one I spoke with offered a temp vehicle until I asked today (Tuesday). I have a company car so a rental isn’t really needed though.

The vibe I’m getting is “Well at least it’s getting fixed”. Which isn’t the best customer service when you drop $55k on a Jeep.

@JeepCares is supposed to be calling me in the next couple days. Hopefully they’re more empathetic than the dealership.

Nothing worse than the dealer acting like that!!!! Hopefully Jeep Cares shows that they care!!!

All that said, thankfully it’s just a simple part swap and your Jeep will be as good as New!!!!

Wow man, that sucks the dealership is acting like its no big deal, Its a huge deal to be 200 miles in on a 50K+ vehicle and be in the shop a week. But sounds like a simple enough fix and can understand the frustration for sure. Hopefully @JeepCares will make it right.
