I go hiking a lot. Use my iPhone to get to the trailhead up in the NC mountains. Get back into the car to go home. No service. No service no maps.

I had to buy a paper map.

The factory Nav will work without a cell signal.

Indeed the factory Nav is not dependent on cellular service.

With the Electronic Infotainment, you can also use your iphone or Android phone that is running Google Maps/ Waze that connects to and displays on the the Infotainment Center 8.4" screen.

Nowadays, Google Maps lets you download area maps and save to your smartphone when you do have cell signal and before you troop out to no cell service areas.

Indeed the factory Nav is dependent on cellular service but that is no big deal!

I think he said the factory NAV will work without a cell signal and I agree. The maps are stored in the unit, thus the manual updates, no?

Yup, I misread. I edited my post. Thanks for catching.

Is the Alpine Premium audio included in the Tech Group for the Sport S? Or do you have to pay for each individually?

It is individually but after listening to the system ,for a factory option it's fantastic for a change.
