Planning a build of a new 2025 Willys Wrangler. Looking to add most all of available options.

But am now questioning whether it is worth adding the Alpine setup which lists for $1595. What do you get if ordering this system versus the standard you would get without it? A local specialty shop that installs audio systems, has told me that they get Jeep owners coming in that have the Alpine deal and they want something better.
Their setups run around $3500.........Wouldn't I save money to just get the base radio/audio and then get one of their systems versus getting the Alpine which (I have no clue personally), but am being told many are not satisfied with

If you are even thinking about replacing the radio/speakers, get the base radio and replace it when you get the Jeep.

I liked the Alpine System in my Willys and now in my Rubicon. I am replacing dash speakers for more highs, but it's not necessary, I just can't help but fool with stuff.
Same for my 2018 Rubicon with the Alpine System. Didn't mention that before because my Jeep is older.

Iā€˜d recommend going to test drive one that has the Alpine to see if you’d be happy with it. I think itā€˜s worth the $1,500 upgrade if Base vs. Alpine are the only 2 options you’re considering. The base one is terrible. Could you spend more and get something even better? Sure. Depends on what your budget is and what type of sound you’re looking for.

I’ve had no issues with the Alpine in my 2018 or 2024 and like the sound output. I may tinker with the 2 dash speakers as others have noted for a little more high end crispness but it’s not anything I can’t live without. Agree the local audio shops of course want your business so they’ll say the Alpine stinks.

From the complaints I've seen with the Alpine, I think there are occasional installation quality issues with loose/weak connections, which creates poor sound quality. Mine works quite well, absolutely no complaints for a car audio. Of course, if you are an audiophile and really want top end then, get the base audio and do a custom upgrade. Outside of that, given the shop wants 2k more than the Alpine cost, I'd stick with Alpine.

You are trying to compare a base unit to an Alpine unit which cost $ 1500 dollars more, then you want to compare a Alpine unit to a custom unit that cost $ 2000 more. Which one do you think sounds best? Do you like driving a Base model Jeep or do you like the 392? Turns out it is all relevant to the amount of $$$ you are willing to invest into your enjoyment. It is not the miles per gallon it is the smiles per gallon.

1. The sub for the 2-door Alpine system monopolizes the cargo space "scoop" in the back. If you are getting a 2-door, this may/should factor into your decision

2. If you are ordering through a "percent below invoice" dealer (check @Ratbert 's list) you will also get that discount off the Alpine option, so you won't be paying the msrp

I would also consider the One Touch Sky top as an option. It automatically comes equipped with the Alpine. My wife doesn’t have Alpine and I do. I wanted the top and didn’t care too much about the speaker sound since I love exhaust/engine noise better. She now takes mine just based on the Alpine speakers alone. Looks like I’m upgrading her system now. 🤣

I have a ā€˜19 and a ā€˜23 with the Alpine and both my wife and I think it’s great.

I would say if you are a true audiophile then you will probably not be satisfied with it, but for the person who just wants to listen to the radio, XM and maybe the occasional podcast, the alpine stereo is great.

My 2 cents.

I have the Alpine & like it. After the Wrangler you build is discounted it will be less than a $1500 option. That's as much as I would want to spend on audio for a vehicle with so much road noise. Wife has the Alpine in her GC & it sounds head & shoulders better than my Wrangler. No big surprise, unlike the Wrangler her GC has so much more sound insulation.
