I've had both. I would buy either but seems that I always destroy cloth.

Cloth is cheaper and I didn't want a $50,000 jeep so I went with cloth. I applied the same logic to almost every option choice. Also I had the "cloth" which was really some kind of weird synthetic material in my old TJ and never regretted it.

I've had both cloth and leather. Leather was definitely easier to keep clean, doggie hair was easy to remove, etc. I didn't like during extreme heat and cold, which we get in WI (more cold than heat). However, when I ordered my 2019 JLUR, I ordered cloth and put on Rough Country neoprene seat covers. Absolutely love them. Great fit and don't have the issues with the extreme temps and they're easy to clean.

I got leather because it's easier to clean, looks better in the long run and in the Rubicon it had Red Stitching.

Yes I did. I paid that much for red thread. :like:

Having sat in a Jeep with cloth seats before, I much prefer the leather. I just like leather!

Cloth seats were cool when they were velour. Now they're kinda lame. Also the weird faded black color. lol.

I have not had leather seats since 2001, how do you maintain the leather? I cannot remember doing anything special back then, I've seen mention of products being used on other threads.

Okay...comfort, cleanliness and cache. Fair answers.

I put this stuff on the cloth seats shortly after I bought my JL. I should probably reapply it.

Thanks.

I always get the ValueGuard package from my dealer. It's thru LineX and it includes rust proofing, undercoating, paint, fabric, and carpet protector. Very happy with it:like:

For me it's the total package, but if I had to pick one thing about it, it's the smell.
I like that leather is comfortable (soft and smooth), it looks good, it's easy to clean, and the part that a lot of people forget is that they make the Jeep smell nice too. I love the smell of leather, and my Jeep smells like a nice new, well worked baseball mitt. Aaaahhh the smell of spring/summer.

I liked the leather package because of the all additional bits you get. ..... if you opt for leather you get all the additional stuff plus the leather inserts on the front of the dash. Only gripe I have is in hotter weather it does get warmer. But I’m ok with that trade off versus dealing with cloth and the stains and smells etc. I live in the Midwest and so it’s usually cold. The seats and steering wheel heat up within a min. No complaints and I’d get the leather over again.
Exactly it. I like the look of the seats, and the extra trim that comes with the package. And in our typically cold climate the leather seats warm up much quicker than cloth.
Yeah they can be a bit warm if you have the top off in the summer, but we've got more cold days than hot, and the leather is better in those conditions. Besides, I just put a towel on the seat while I'm out of the Jeep to keep the sun off it, then move the towel when I get in. Seats stay comfy, and the sun doesn't dry it out. win-win.

I use a damp cloth (damp not wet) to wipe away any dirt, dog hair, etc. Mild soap or leather cleaner if needed, but generally the damp cloth is enough. Remember leather is skin so it should be cleaned like skin, so nothing harsh, and remember that too much water dries it out.
Once they're clean I use leather conditioner to make sure they stay soft and supple. Currently I have a bottle of Meguiar's leather care, but I had some other stuff I liked better. It was in a translucent brown bottle but I ran out and decided to try Meguiar's because they have a great car reputation. It's not bad, but I like the other stuff a little more. I don't remember the name of it, but I'll let you know if I figure it out. Maybe our friends from Gibson Leatherworks (@Blkjak) can point us in the right direction of a good conditioner to use.

What kind of warranty, if any, does this process come with Brandy? I ask because things like the spray fabric protector I linked above are treatments likely best repeated over the life of the vehicle. Thanks.

Personally I am a big fan of Chamberlains. A lot of people use Leather Honey or Bicks. Many conditioners will darken lighter colored leather, so test in an inconspicuous spot. The only conditioner that I have found that does not is Venetian

I'd have to get my papers out for sure, but I want to say the interior was 5yrs and the exterior stuff was 7yrs.

I did not want leather in a Jeep here in AZ, but I have to admit that the leather does look better than the current cloth offering. I personally preferred the cloth in the YJ's best, particularly in Sahara guise. It was also virtually impossible to stain. But for this expensive beast, I opted for cloth knowing I would cover them with PRP seat covers.

Admittedly, tweed isn't for everyone. It's for more of a discerning buyer. Perhaps one who has grown tired of his Bentley Bentayga Falconry Edition, on now wants something a little more upscale.
