The air quality is also crap so frequently on the Wasatch Front here in Utah (and even seeping into other parts of the state) that I'll take my emissions equipment happily in exchange for getting the diesel goodness.
+1 ?

Darrell you seem to know quite a bit for being a brand new diesel owner. So please do share for us that may be considering putting in an order. Based on your following quote "The market right now is good enough that you can get away with that as long as you buy it from the factory and at around 6-8% under invoice which is easy to do." I must be ignorant along with several others because you seem to have the knowledge we don't. So please share how. You seem to have all the answers. You also claim you had your Jeep fully loaded except for the cold air intake. I have the engine block heater came as an extra even though I didn't want it you claimed it wasn't available? You also claim you ordered every option? I see your pictures and I could see you don't have the M/Ts which is an off option, and you do not have the black grill option so you're just a lot of talk and a lot of BS. Those are just a few observations from your pictures. I'm sure I could find a half a dozen more where you opted not to order as you claim you did. Be careful in that Tex mall strip, I'd hate to see you get a crack in your plastic bumper. Just another Rubicon mall crawler
Well then maybe you're right. Maybe the heater is no longer an option. Just like steel bumpers are no longer an option and M/T's are no longer an option just take a look at his pics of his rig after he claims he ordered every available option just shy of the cold air intake. Just calling a spade a spade.
You got me! I didn't order the black grill option, or the M/Ts because the black grills are not for me and because I don't need M/Ts in 33s, BUT they are options that I didn't order. Steel bumpers, I forgot that caveat too, crap! Disclaimer, I didn't want them because I know I want an aftermarket rear bumper, possibly for the front as well.

All of that either makes me a liar, or an idiot, for omitting a few enlightening long-winded sentences. Maybe it makes me both! I will let you decide. I will readily admit I am an idiot as it is one of my claims to fame, but you are free to think I am a liar. I am cool with that.

I do not have all the answers. That is why I am on this forum, and I read it practically everyday. There is a ton of folks that offer great advice and since I do idiotic things without guidance, here I am learning and participating and enjoying the forum.

I guess I need to touch upon that "market" thing you wanted me to answer. Fortunately, I joined this forum before I started the buying process. That is how I learned about the under invoice discounts. It turned out to be true. This forum also enlightened me to the current used market and how bloated the prices are. At least in my area, the forum was once again correct. The prices here are still bloated depending on year/milage, dealer/owner-seller, etc. There are always outliers as well as variances in different market areas.

As far as being a brand new diesel owner, I am. As to being new to the world of diesels used in an operational off-road environment I have a few decades of experience. I know a thang-or-two about it.

I still stand by my original reply although I should have kept walking on by your post and ignored it, like I said I do idiotic things.

Finally, thank you for your concern. I will do my best not to get a crack in my plastic bumper at the mall.

(P.S.: I edit most of my posts multiple times, including this one, because I always find myself using poor grammar, or I think of a better way to say something. Maybe I should put that in my signature line. I think I will.)

It's curious the "Casey the ecodiesel YouTuber" lives in BC and has overheating issues - I'd expect similar conditions to MT/AK.
Does he overload it? I can't remember it has been a while since I watched his show. He does go to some nice places though.

So like you, Im in a situation where I cant test drive much. Had a JKU 17 and a gladiator. Im done w/ the 3.6. Old people are tried and tested but that doesn't mean their still good. lol! ..I like the 2.0 but not the lag and it is a 4 cylinder no matter what. , 3.6 etorque is no different than 3.6. Maybe if u spend an afternoon you'll spot the slight difference. 392 i cant afford. So my question is WHY DIESEL? Can anyone sum it up in a sentence for us? Ive beaten this forum the last couple weeks trying to get answers.
It is fun to drive.

Let's just hope that when you go to use your lockers or sway bar disconnect they're not frozen solid from lack of use. Honestly without having the experience of being on the trails and using them when you need them you won't know how to use them correctly anyway so it doesn't matter. At least you have the Rubicon sticker to show how cool you are
You seem mad bro.

I can't imagine what it would take me to get angry about what someone else chose to drive unless they were rolling their Rivian across my waterlogged lawn.

I'll be sure to give you a wave at CostCo.

Metal Dawg, you handled the idiotic replies from “Wrangler man” far better than I would have. Kudos. I wanted to reply to him/her last night when I initially read the replies but am glad I didn’t. Dgt

Thanks. I should have never replied to his original post, but like I said I do idiotic things. I thought most of his original post was insightful, so I don't know why he decided to be caustic towards what others drive or how they use their vehicles. It really doesn't matter, and so I should have just kept walking on by. Nothing to see here folks! Maybe he had a bad day at the mall.

My garage door has 94" of vertical clearance. Will I have any trouble fitting a JLURD with an AEV lift, 37s, and a roof rack?

Possibly. Depends on how tall the lift is and how big the roof rack is.

I am still on 33s, and I am at 73" tall. You have 21" of height left to play with.
