Greetings all, installed Genesis dual battery system in my 12,000 mile 2021 JL Rubi XR 3.6 Etorque just before Thansgiving and upon first start the MEl shone with a P0480 DLC (radiator fan error) and the power steering no longer operates. As of today, 12-3, no response from Genesis despite email/web site messaging. Anybody have any ideas on what is going on? Seems like if you upset the Jeep electrical apple cart, it will not be kind to you.

Take the owner who has taken the Aux battery connection and Fuse 42 out, turned ESS off, content to run one battery, and whose closest idea of an off roading trip is the gravel parking lot at the flee market, (I'm not judging), they're likely to benefit little from GO products.
Hey! Not everyone that pulls the F42 fuse is a mall crawler Mr..

I have a Genesis Gen 2 in my 2018 and just replaced both batteries just over two weeks ago, Jeep was not connected to any power for approx 30 mins and once I installed the new batteries it fired right up and I had no issues or error messages, I went into JSCAN and ran the advanced scan and only had one error code so I cleared it and ran it again after a few startup and shutdowns and no errors.

Maybe things are different on your 2021 Etorque.

Try calling Genesis and ask to speak to Mike H. He's there top tech and can answer questions, I have called him several times and he's very helpful.

I'm with you buddy. Pulling Fuse 42 is about not running ESS and deciding with this decision that there's little reason to keep the ESS/Aux battery connected given that the extra power it provides, for those not otherwise running ESS events, is not worth its potential cannibalistic destruction of a connected main battery if it (the ESS/Aux battery that is) goes bad: mall crawlers, overlanders and every one in between alike. :)

The funny thing here is that Genesis Offroad's (GO) Dual battery kit--at least the one with the dual Group 25 batteries and power hub: the ultimate anti mall crawler setup, (if not the GO kit that relocates or simply upgrades the ESS/Aux battery or main battery while preserving factory wiring), is effectively one that serves similar outcome as pulling that fuse, as the two group 25 batteries are usually connected when the engine is on, even to both power ESS events, which is what happens if you prevent the Power Control Relay (PCR) from ever receiving power with the fuse pull. :)

I decided to order the Genesis Extension Accessory Cable and have it installed to run my Dometic Refrigerator off the Buss-bar of the second battery. The refrigerator currently is connected to one of the dedicated 10-Amp Battery+ Aux Circuits which runs through the PDC and the primary battery.

I think it would be a better to run the frig off the second battery. The plan is to have my Warn Winch and ARB Twin-Air Compressor also connected to the Buss-bar.

This would leave all of my radios and Trail Lights powered by the Aux Circuits which I have set as Ignition-Switched.

Finally, my new Genesis Gen 3 Dual Battery System, with the Engine-On Circuit and two Odyssey Group 25 batteries, was installed today. My Warn Winch, Dometic Refrigerator, exterior power point connection for jumper cables, and ARB Twin Air Compressor, are now connected to the Secondary Battery Buss-Bar. Currently, I have my new Odyssey 25-Amp AGM Battery Charger connected and charging the batteries.

Although, the refrigerator only has a parasitic draw of 60 milliamps, when in the off mode, and 4 amps under load, I can't leave the DC circuit connected when the refrigerator is connected to AC power.

Since, I now have boo-koo power now, I'm thinking about installing a Genesis 3 or 4 outlet power box in the rear for the just in case.
