Door hinge rock chips

This is the stuff I ended up ordering for mine. I am also going to put it on the door sills as my dog seems to have a hard time jumping in to the back and her claws hit paint all the time casuing light scuffing. Plus it gives me enough to do the underside of my mountain bikes too

Awesome idea, better than “sill guards”. Since my JL is yet to be born, would you mind measuring how wide the front door sill is???

I've been debating plastidipping my hinges or going the 3M route. There's a thread on here from a guy who plastidipped his hinges who also has the bright white like I do. I thought it looked pretty good. I guess I better choose something soon since I have the KO2s.

Is this a KO2 issue? I had Duratracs (285/75R16) on my JKU Willys and after a lot of dirt road driving had 1 small chip on one hinge. Makes me inclined to ditch the KO2's if/when I order a JLUR.

This is a Jeep thing, but it's made worse by KO2s, yes. The KO2 is notorious for flinging rocks. You can expect your rear fender plastic to take a bigger beating, too.

After seeing that this could be a issue for all of the above reasons we are starting development on pre cut paint protector film pieces for the effected areas to make it easy for every one that wants to protect these areas with out the hassle of buying a roll and hand cutting the PPF to fit.

Mine look just like that. It's not just a KO2 issue. I have a JLU Sport with stock AT tires and I've been off road lots in it. I think It's a Jeep thing.

I would be interested in purchasing this. My JLUR is still somewhere in the Toledo factory, but I would want to apply this as soon as possible.

Aren’t the hinges magnesium or something? If so, it might look bad, but it shouldn’t be a rust issue.

The door shell is Aluminum, don't know if the hinges are too.

Pretty sure I read they were. I know I read it about the tailgate hinges.

Just checked mine and sure enough, chips on hinges on both sides. @R 3 please let me know when you have those protector pieces for sale.
