Also, those tests involve hitting steel barriers. Let's be real, which vehicle would you rather be in during a head on collision, a 5k lb, body on frame with steel bumpers or a 3k lb aluminum unibody marshmallow that got a 5 star rating? Don't know about you, but I'd rather be in the former.
I believe it scored 3 stars on actual impact testing. The 1 star is because it lacks active safety features like auto braking and lane keep assist.
It's fine. Europeans are just delicate flowers that don't know how to stop cars or stay in their lanes without computers telling them to.
Kind of silly that I need to make an entirely new account to go over to the Gladiator forum. Why not just make all forums under the same account? I want to go post there but I don't want to be bothered making a new account just to post. I have enough names and PWs to keep track of.
I think the stock Rubicon fenders are out of the way enough to be fine for 99.999% of our 4x4ing needs. They can clear 38s with only a 2.5" lift. I don't plan on replacing mine any time soon.
I noticed that my city MPG dropped to about 14.5 MPG after installing the muffler. It was averaging about 16.5 before. So a 2 MPG drop.
Pretty strange. Maybe it's because I'm subconsciously flooring it more to hear that sweet exhaust.
I installed mine about a month ago. Love it!
The hardest part of installation was actually getting those body bolts off. My 800 ft/lb impact wrench didn't work on some of the bolts and I had to use a heavy duty wrench with a pipe on the handle to extend the level to get them off.
I'd say a stubby antenna is a pretty good cheap mod, those go for about $20. The OEM antenna looks pretty ugly, they should have been black coated. Although the silver ones do match your color, so maybe you're good.
I also put MURICA flags decal on the sides, gotta have that on any Wrangler...
I saw them all up close (including the new Pumpkin and Mojito) and my top 3 are still Firecracker Red, Ocean Blue, and Sting Gray. But color preference is very subjective.
I think Black also looks amazing if you put on the right mods (like black wheels).
Definite drone in that range. I have a m/t so I can choose what range my RPMs are on, so if the drone got too bad I could upshift or push through to 3k and it would disappear.
Don't know if I've gotten used to it or it has gotten better, but the drone is no where near as bad as it was once I...
Only thing holding me back at the moment are the looks. Wish I could see one out in the wild or at least in a youtube vid or something, so I can see it from all the angles.
Yeah, I was looking into this one: http://www.rockhard4x4.com/product_p/rh-90248.htm. It's at the top of my list currently. Emailed them and they said it's only about 34 lbs.
