I have a few defects...one mainly thatbis a bubble that is down to metal. Dealer said warranty won't cover until it actually rusts. They will touch them up for free though. I'm fine with that...not in a noticable area and I'd rathee not have a huge area repainted.

Searched the forum for a relevant thread, because I didn't think my concern warranted a new one - so here goes. Picked up my new 18 JL Rubicon on 8/30. Absolutely love it so far. It's a special vehicle, for sure. That said, I've since noticed 2 small chips on the rear edge of the plastic dash storage tray (between the leather dash top and the windshield) that are driving me nuts. A cheap piece of plastic that simply got nicked (twice) during the production process.

Over the course of my Jeep's life, there will surely be other blemishes. That said, I would like for my vehicle to start out as perfectly as possible. Not sure if this is a simple part that could be replaced, or whether it's major surgery and not worth the risk of causing another issue. Interested in thoughts on how/if this might be addressed.

Punyandy, Lots of times in my 70 years As a perfectionist, I find it is much better to leave some things as is. If it is simple change go for it, but if dash is tore apart no way!!

Well I had everything documented at my dealer, and they say it's in the system now. My main concern was just future issues, and I'm not about to have a repaint or touch up on panels, I think that would drive me more crazy. As is, it's probably only me that's going to see these spots when I detail it every so often.
Hey did you ever get anywhere with your dealer/FCA o your paint issues? What was the end result or recommendations they wanted to do? Thanks

FCA told me to address the concerns with the dealer, and the dealer did nothing but document it for future issues, but assured me they'd cover anything in the future.

Since the new vehicle feeling wore off, I've been treating it like a Jeep, so I haven't really worried about it anymore. Just driving and enjoying it now.

Has anyone had any luck from dealer or FCA regarding paint issues? I got an estimate over $2000 to make needed repairs. Of course I’m not in favor of breaking paint on my brand new JL.
I hate to tell you this it will never match or hold up as the factory paint . The factory has a much higher baking process along with the paint is from a different allotment when the sun goes down it will stand out like a sore thumb. Just saying !

I had a small chip on the piece below the A pillar, I asked and received a free thing of PE2 touch up paint, mixed Punkn with some clear, filled the chip, let it harden for a day and then buffed it out with some Megs, wouldnt even know it was there. no idea how it got there, but no big deal.

The rest of the paint was excellent, I decontaminated it with mcKees Iron remover, and then clayed and polished it. It goes in next week for PPF.

Yeah, more than I'd expect. I had them documented at the dealership. One repaired with some touch-up where some metal was showing. They aren't super noticeable, so I don't really care anymore....i was kinda pissed at first, but I'm over it now.
