Funny, I feel the same way about milk and Pepsi. But then again… ?‍♂

when I was stationed in Okinawa, we used to do Schlitz beer and tomato juice occasionally (in the bars out in town)

I recently took off my factory 392XR 35’s and went to super wide 36.4” x15.5” MT tires. It looks amazing, still drives great, but it is a little too tall for my girls and gets more attention than I need. I’m thinking about swapping to a more subtle 34.5” tall 15.5” wide AT.

Anybody dropped down in diameter and not regretted it? Once you go MT does it suck to go to a less aggressive AT look?
There was a guy with a 392 on another forum who put on a lighter wheel and tire package and ran the 1/4 mile. Times were unbelieavable.

highly recommend a street wheel and and tire setup, just switch them back if you go wheeling.

If anything, I’d go to a taller tire. If you lose anymore side wall you will be deep into bro’d out F-250 territory.

We went down in diameter after our 2019 on 38's was stolen. Our 2022 XR is still on the stock 35's...for now. Next tires will definitely be 37's or bigger. On road I don't feel much difference although the '19 was a 2.0t with a tune and this one a 3.6L. The '19 was definitely quicker... and got better mileage. I've gone down even more in diameter myself. Lost 134lbs between January 2022 and January 2023.

Edit: nm it wasn’t even smaller tires, just lighter
0-60 = 3.66
1/4 mile = 12.05 @ 108.77 (which is hitting the speed limiter)

Ridiculous

I Just added a tazer and set the tire size to about 30.14" to see if it would trick the speed limiter, and it did.

I also changed out the Falken Wilpeak M/T with cooper AT3 4S. Being mud tires the falken's sucked for normal use. - The Copers are also much lighter.
I also did the RockJock Spare delete...for now.

It's been about 20 degrees here and the DA has been -2000+. So yesterday on the turnpike I had not a single car behind me so I quickly got the dragy synced and stopped to do a 1/4 mile run, I was curious to see the results in this DA with the higher speed limiter (I didn't lower the tire size enough as it now kicks in near 109). You MFers will never believe the times it ran in this DA with the limiter raised some and the lighter tires. I was still on the higher limiter before the 1/4.

Maybe I’ll buy a set of these 44 lb 305/50/20 street tires and start ripping sub 3.6 0-60 runs.

That’s exactly what I’d do if I had a 392. Some lower profile street tires on separate wheels. One set for the street one set for the dirt. Lower profile will improve handling.

Infact I think everybody with a 392 should do that. You don’t need a 470hp v8 for rock crawling, which means nearly every 392 owner bought theirs so they aren’t bored out of their mind on the street. Might as well make it as good as it can be.

yeah, those tires are super cheap so I could just get a second set of wheels and swap them back-and-forth.
