Or the instant you buy any BF Goodrich tire.
Wait are BF Goodrich generally a little smaller than other brands or do they just wear down quicker?

when I was stationed in Okinawa, we used to do Schlitz beer and tomato juice occasionally (in the bars out in town)
THREADJACK: it sounds really bizarre, but a 50/50 mix of lager beer and 7up actually tastes great.

I ordered this 32” street set up (44 lb 305/50/20 tire and 34 lb 20x10 wheel). With the lighter weight and the 392XR gearing, it should rip 0-60 in the mid 3’s in cool weather.

The crew at Discount Tire priced matched Walmart for the tires and custom offsets for the wheels to get me a killer deal.

We'll need to see time slips when you get them :) Should put in 4Lo, lock em up, and do a 4 tire smoke show!

next time I'm running low on Yuengling, but have plenty of 7up, I'll have to give it a try. I've heard of things that sound a lot worse.

I just ordered a dragy and the new wheel/ tire set arrives Monday. I don’t really want to stress the drivetrain by trying to launch it with the 36x15.5 tires on (it would be slower than stock anyway) but I’ll start doing runs with the new tires this coming week and I’ll share times. ??

I do this regularly. For the most part I keep the 33" on during the winter non wheeling season then switch out to the 37" the week before a trail ride. If there are extended lengths between rides I switch it back to the 33". I keep rotation schedules on each set and move them at 5000 miles. Just trying to keep the wear on the 37 MTs at a minimum. I bought a tire lift to help the kids when I have them move them around.
For me I could care less about the look. The AT tires are quieter, wear better, and better mileage. With all the wheeling in my area being muddy and soupy I have no alternative than to use Mud Tires.

Should I gather from most of these responses that no one changes their axle gearing? If they were they would be able to simply change wheels and tires between sizes. Seems to be a trend. My local Offroad Warehose tried to tell me not to do 4.88 gears with 37's. They told me to stay close to the stock gearing for better highway mileage. I think that's bad advice. If I lived in Florida that might accurate but I live in a hilly area and can barely get my manual into 6th gear most of the time. I have to keep it in lower gears and rev it up more which translates to worse mileage. So the person above speaking to better milage with 33's, thats probably why. Even the professionals at Yukon disagreed with ORW

My point is If you have the correct gearing on your Jeep it will drive like it was meant to from the factory. WOnt help with short wives. If you never changed your gears you will probably enjoy driving it more with the smaller tire and your wife will be able to climb in easier. If you changed your gearing, you will need to put it back closer to stock, as the tires get smaller.

I just had the gears switched to 4.88. having the 37s for a year makes me wish I had done it sooner. I was told that only those with the 6 speed really notice the difference. Right now i have the 33s on it with that ratio and its obviously over geared but its loads more fun to drive. All the power at the bottom. I will switch out to the 37s for the hot springs trip and I expect to have close to a 4.1 factory experience. I believe what I've heard is that the auto with the 8 speed compensates for the need and they can get away with it, no real loss of power like the 6 speed gets. I rarely saw 6th gear as well, its more of the low end crawl that I really want and will have with that change. I believe that is also why they allow for it from the factory only with the 6th speed. In the end it's all about money and what to spend on, I couldn't pass up the tires and rims first then axle/ball joints/gears next. The earlier you can get the gears done the happier you will be, its like a fog lifting.

Good to know. I want to do it but to your point, what to spend money on? It works and while offroading the 4:1 t-case helps so it makes me want to put money into skid plates, better ball joints. drive shafts, etc. I already replaced the ball joints, added full undercarriage skids, on-board air, comms, track bar, steering stabilizer relocation bracket, tools, etc. Gears are coming up since I'm traveling more.

There was a guy with a 392 on another forum who put on a lighter wheel and tire package and ran the 1/4 mile. Times were unbelieavable.
I’m more likely to do the above to make a 392 mall runner than put bigger tires on.

Gee wiz, just change a set of wheels and tires twice a week, or regear on a regular basis. Nothing to it. How about a Porsche to drive around in town and a 392 with 37's for the weekend? If you are going to live large then live really large.
