You have an excellent point..

When I see an Angry Grill .... well I look at the design, how it deals with/integrates with the headlights and not really much more then that.. I am pretty opened minded...

To me, what I take issue with is a Jeep that is un-kept, is in poor repair, etc..

As long as the owner takes pride in his vehicle and takes care of it, why would I care if the vehicle had an Angry Grill, Eye lashes, corny hood decal, old school look rims, logos all over or even a butt ugly gal sitting in the passenger seat, etc.

To each his own... but do take pride in your vehicle and take appropriate care of it.

I wave at all JL's, JT's, Police Cars, Fire Trucks, Road Worker's and...

A thirty-something gal at work bought a jeep several years ago. She’s had a tough life, and she walks with a severe limp because of it, but she’s as sweet as can be. She’s kind to everybody, and she has completely embraced her version of the jeep life. She has jeep memorabilia all over her office. It’s her thing now — but her jeep has an angry grill and other equally stupid looking accessories all over it. She thinks it’s neat, and I think she’s neat, so I support her. When I see other stupid looking jeeps I think of her enthusiasm and imagine others like her.

There’s enough misery in the world, and mean people are reproducing like fruit flies. We can’t seem to eliminate them fast enough. So I don’t give two shits about how stupid somebody’s jeep looks. I try to encourage (wave at) everybody who is doing their best and save my disdain for the people who need to be removed.

I think it's because the seven slot grille and round headlights are so iconic that Jeep even went through the effort to trademark it.

To me, it's a big part of what gives the Wrangler it's utilitarian look, but I don't have a problem if people swap it out. It makes a cool garage or bar ornament too!

Back when I had my JK, there was a brief moment I looked at the grilles that replace the slots with mesh, just to be different, so I do get it, but I'm happy I decided against it.
