Hi all,

I’m trying to source metal brackets identical to what Goose Gear uses to attach drawer slides to the aluminum extrusion on their drawer modules. I reached out to them and tried to purchase individually with no success. Has anyone purchased something like this for their interior build out before. It looks to be a 90 degree metal bracket, 1” wide bend x 3” wide bend approximately x 3-4”long. Attached photo for reference. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If you don't mind drilling it, look at metalsupermarkets. I used them a bunch for the trailer build.

They'll chop it up per your dimensions and either ship or you can pickup if they have a local branch.

EDIT: You can comp shop metalsdepot, too. If you need to ship they sometimes have better shipping pricing, same deal they'll cut it for you.

Thank you. I’ll look into those.

Take a look at the 80/20 site. They have tons of items you can use to build just about anything you can dream up. Just think of it as an adult sized erector set! You may even have a dealer nearby:

That was my thought too, but I checked the site and couldn't find stuff similar to what @Twowheels19 seeks: which of course, given the vastness of 8020's product line and possibility that I missed something, doesn't mean it isn't worth the OPs time to double check.

Here's where I'm confused. Take the drawers that sit closest to the aluminum extrusion's base. Those drawers are ones in which I can see need for such angle bracket hardware that the OP seeks, so as to elevate the drawer slides somewhat from the aluminum extrusions they attach to: those extrusions also serving the job of providing the structure's base--where it interfaces with its floor.

But on more elevated drawers in the structure why couldn't machine screws like those already being used to attach the drawer slides to the angle brackets simply be swapped for longer versions of those screws, that protrude through drilled holes in the aluminum extrusion, perhaps threaded ones, or if not (or in addition) capturing the screw's end with one of an assortment of aluminum extrusion T-channel threaded hardware pieces that accepts a machine screw's threaded end. It seems that such machine screws already protrude through the extrusion vertically with the brackets, my proposal finding them traveling horizontally through the extrusion.

Of course there may be aspects of this build I am missing that necessitate the angle brackets, but my proposal finds them not needed in the first place for drawers that are distal from the floor.

If it is the right angle aluminum brackets the drawer slides are mounted to he is looking for, I'm pretty sure I saw something similar in the online catalog I think in section 3 - Fasteners. In particular, page 3-105 looks similar to what he described. The trouble is, the catalog is huge! Any yes, there are probably many ways to attach drawer slides, perhaps directly to the 8020 extruded slots with no need for right angles. They even list the ball bearing slides in the catalog with no mention of how they are attached!

I've used several approaches depending on the specific project needs:

1) onlinemetals.com or metalscut4u.com for some custom aluminum brackets

2) For my drawers I went with an 80/20 solution using linear motion slides:
Jeep Wrangler JL DIY platform and drawer system 1722711741801-2

They are not full extension and they don't slide as nicely as those heavier drawer slides
Jeep Wrangler JL DIY platform and drawer system 1722711826517-

but they do save space and work just fine for my purposes

3) Looks like the 80/20 drawer slides are designed to attach directly to an extrusion (https://8020.net/fl-cou20-100lbs.html):
Jeep Wrangler JL DIY platform and drawer system 1722711927426-l

but their example shows a drawer built out of 80/20 too, which uses up a lot of space compared to a traditional birch ply drawer (but could probably get it to work with a ply drawer with the right hardware):

4) 80/20 also let's you buy some 'raw' pieces:

Maybe they've got something easier to deal with than a custom order via onlinemetals or similar.

Too bad goose gear won't sell you whatever brackets they've fabricated.

Wow, "Bob's your Uncle," (and your name.;))

I think you're right. This is pretty close...maybe too thick but yeah:
