How long are we talkin and how many? I'd maybe look at something on the tailgate or using the soft top bolt holes that are on the back of the sports bar.

Unfortunately, in the land of corn, you must have your firearm in a closed case. However, I may have an out as the law used to say "case" or broke down. Now in the 60's it broke down meant bolt removed. Ill check the law again.
Thank you very much for the post and triggering my mind to remember the broke down part.

American adventure labs. Pricey, but nice. If you have a 4 door, it bolts right into t
Where did you get the bottom slide? That would work well for me while at the range.

he available bungholes. If you have a 2 door, like me, the back hole are covered by sheet metal, and you have to drill a small hole to reveal the factory bunghole. For drone reason the factory coved it on the two doors. And you have no idea how uncomfortable it is to actually write bunghoke😳

Ill pass and just make my own out of drawer slides and of course for the base attachment...ILL use the BUNGHOLES in my 4 door Rubicon.

I really appreciate the reference, however.

Hiya,

Wanted to share a project I worked on over the break. I was looking for something that was modular, and that I could easily add and complete remove on the fly, so I went with Packout mounts that I'm able to arrange in multiple formats depending on what I'm doing. I attached the platform to the Jeep with the existing tie down bolts and I used hockey pucks as a spacer so there was a little give. Sorry, I don't have any pictures of the platform with all the mounts removed, but it's basically just flat and carpeted. It takes just a couple minutes to add/remove mounts. I'm pretty happy with it.

Cheap and flexible way to do it vs built in drawers, plenty of room behind for tents/chairs/mattress/etc,etc

I found what Skitter said, sold out, and at $752 a bit pricey anyway but great idea! I'm more inclined to find a spot to mount, or just shove into any convenient spot, one of Harbor Freight's long gun cases. They should carry a couple of long guns and could be carried on a roof rack or inside for better security. Now just waiting for another half price super sale from HF to pick one up!

Also, note that it would be worth checking out the stackable plastic tote boxes from HF. I've heard they are interchangeable with the Milwaukee and Craftsman boxes.

I set my 4 door up with a sleeping platform intended to save motel/hotel travel expenses when I didn't want to carry a lot of camping gear across the country.

The platform all ends up in the back to create a double decked garage when I do want to load up for camping and boondocking. There is plenty of room for stackable tote boxes, fridge, power supply, solar panels, boom booms, etc, for rooftop tent camping.

The rear plywood panel is shaped to also become a shooting bench when set on a folding 2'X4' Bora Centipede workbench leg system, which is at least less shaky than a card table!

Set up with sleeping platform in place:

and with platform stowed away to load up gear. There is plenty of room for plastic totes from Milwaukee, Craftsman, Harbor Freight, etc, and the fridge is usually positioned the other direction. :
