I'm not a fan of mounting the antenna inside or right behind the large metal spare wheel. Roof mount is best for signal propagation but not for antenna life.

For mine I drilled out the center mounting hole of an "L" bracket for an NMO mount antenna to accept one of the larger diameter mounting bolts for the top hinge. I then used a slightly longer bolt and a 1/4" thick spacer behind the bracket. This mounts the antenna where it can work a little better but not get knocked off.

Nice simple and clean! Yeah I was thinking about doing the ghost mount on the rollbar as I only use the radio .001% of the time in the Jeep. But that looks pretty slick.

Hey Alan, where did you get that mount for the Ghost Antenna? That's a great install
If I recall, the mount came with the antenna - it was originally installed in our old 2017 and then moved over to the 2022 JLU when we bought it. It's only attached with a single bolt but seems to be holding up well, and works great.

RESURECTION!

Quick question - which is preferred for GMRS? The ghost antenna or the 6.5"?

My install will be on the rear rollbard (2dr)
