This is an awesome idea!

I have a couple of questions/concerns....

1) How much does each of those cans weigh with your gear in them?

2) Do you have some sort of upgraded tire carrier to compensate for the tire and cans on the gate?

3) Would that even matter? I think it would since it is still extra weight on the gate, regardless of what side it is on.

Thanks!

1) I have an air compressor in one and winch remote, tire repair kit, rags, led work light in the other. Not sure how much they weigh. It's close to a year, absolutely no problems.

2-3) No. Not necessary at all. There are enough anchored points to the tailgate that it is very solid. Unless maybe you already have an oversized spare and the weigh of it close to or beyond its weight limit. Mine's stock.

I too am still stock and have had zero issues... WRT what I keep in there, roll of paracord, bungee cords, ratchet straps in one. Assorted tools, gloves, etc in the other. Finally just underneath the cans I have a tomahawk and 3D cell flashlight and my plywood mini table magnetically held or on top when used.

Glad it's working out. This is by far the best addition I have made.

Thanks. Looks awesome. Did you mount your ammo boxes the same way as OP? Table is a good idea. Have some ideas on what to do for our tailgate but need the weather to warm up. Way too cold to work on it right now.
