Noob question: I understand that the diesel JL is supposed to have grille inserts with large openings, like the JT. My 2020 diesel JLU has the small openings in the grille. Anyonw have any idea whether I should make the dealer change them out? Or am I ok the way it is?

Does the current set up bother you? Ostensibly you've had it for at least a year and you're just deciding that a grill opening is a big deal? Please, keep us informed as to what the dealer says.

Are the 2021 and on JL's coming with JT grille inserts? I thought you had to have the front camera to get them. I don't think you can get the dealer to add them in free of charge, shouldn't be too expensive to change out yourself though.

Interesting situation for sure, I'd think the smaller grid openings would be ok where your temps are pretty mild as long as you're not towing heavy. I'd be more concerned if you were somewhere hotter like Southern Arizona.

Looks like it would be about $150 to swap them out if you can find them in stock.

I had gone back and forth on ordering mine with the camera vs without just for the guarantee of the inserts, thinking I'd use the hood lock more than the camera though.

I have the Bolt hood lock; the middle section (small honeycombs) comes with the lock. I figured if I bought the middle section with the large honeycombs I'd just butcher the whole thing to enlarge an opening for the lock, so I just left it.

So, I have a sort-of hybrid look. It wasn't really that hot here in OH this summer and I didn't see much of a temperature difference when I went on long road trips or when wheeling this summer as well, so YMMV.

Thanks everyone for the responses. It doesn't bother me the way it is, so I'll probably leave it. I didn't even know about the difference until I was looking at installing the front camera made by the Tazer people. It said the diesel and electric JL need the camera designed for the JT because of the larger grill openings. But mine aren't. That's what brought up the question.

FYI I just did the switch to the JT honeycombs today. It's super easy to follow the Bolt instructions to cut the one section out for the hood lock. No chance of you screwing it up
