Does anyone know if the heater is included as standard equipment with the ecodiesel? I have seen no mention of it in the build guide. Wondering if it is available anymore.

It was a $95 option when I got my '21. I did have to specify/add it to the build. I see in the Jeep website builder that the option is still listed when building a '21 but not for the '22. Perhaps as you say it is included as standard equipment now, or maybe part of the Cold Weather Package?

It was an option on mine. I think it was $85 when I got my 2021, but around $100 seems right.

I don't like the routing they did. It makes it so you have to open your bonnet to plug in. I pulled some of the clips and moved them to other locations on the cable and changed the routing (had passenger front fender off) and routed it to come up at the front bumper along the frame. I had about 6in to spare which was perfect. Zip tied it and it is very handy there. I can access it w/o opening or moving anything on the jeep.

Yeah, there was no secret for the 2021 models. Thanks for your input @GearWhore and @brewski

Must seem insignificant to Stellantis not to make mention of its existence. Salesman and manager had no more info than me. We often see below 0-F during our winters so it matters to me.

From what I've been told, is using a block heater helps prolong the life of the diesel engine too, let alone the draw on the battery in cold temps.

I'll look tonight to see what the order code was for that.

UPDATE:
I went thru the Jan 17 2022 order options and it is not listed. Now that might mean it is part of another kit, like Cold Weather package or just comes with all Diesels. It seems like it would be a harder thing to install for the factory at the accessory section instead of it just being part of all diesels (and upping the price accordingly). If it isn't included (2022 update) or not part of another package, I'd be surprised if you couldn't buy it from @AllMoparParts.com (Benny) or even your dealer and install it. If you remove your passenger fender it wouldn't be too much work to install.

I found this situation interesting and looked to get you info.
- Checked the order options from Jan 17, 2022 on this forum, no option 3alpha code found
- Checked "build your own" at Jeep.com and no option for engine block heater
- Couldn't find any info of a block heater coming with the diesel or as an included item in a package (like cold weather package)
- looked at Allmoparparts.com . Got what I believe is the part number for mine. I believe this is the correct one, if you are going to order one PM and I'll send you my VIN to compare to. But That is just assuming 2022 would work with 2021 engine block heater Mopar PN: 68357705AC . I don't see why they wouldn't be compatible, but you never know.

I can't find it any where on mine either. Not even the build out sheet. Maybe shortage or I don't know...

Thank you @Scott.B for your input. Was hoping someone who has seen their 2022 build sheet would comment. We will know if the heater is included when we take delivery and truly hope there is the option to add one if it is not included.

Way back when, I had a 59 F-100 straight six that was a weak starter in cold temps. Got a heater that mounted into the hose at the bottom of the radiator. In under an hour the whole block was warm and it fired right up. Seems like it was under 10 bucks at the time, and well worth it.

where is the block heater installed in the block? I'm hoping it's like the cummins where the block heater is installed on all engines, and the option only buys you the cord.

Edit: Nevermind, found it. Just above the motor mount on the passenger side. Found a video on the internet that had it installed from factory, and just he had to buy a cord.

Screen grab - note the orange plug where the cord goes

Then mine - no orange plug, end is hollow

Mine built 2nd half of 2021

Unless someone else chimes in, I'll pop the hood this afternoon and take a look.

FYI, I ordered a block heater for my '21 2.0L Turbo in June 2021. It was $95.

When I went to order my '22 2.0L Turbo in December I was told the block heater is no longer available at the time of ordering. It is now a dealer installed option.

Not sure if that applies to the diesel or not.

Like @Scott.B said I didn't order it because it wasn't available at the time. I figured it was a supply chain thing and I could add it later anyway, which I plan to whether I need it or not. The only option I didn't get was the cold air intake and little things like grab handles that could be added later.
