Great find, Ahmed! I'll bet we'll hear less complaining about that feature, now that we know it has funtion and has little to do with form or styling. That is pure Jeepness, my friend! Great to see FCA gets it, maybe more than ever. I'll bet there are many more of these details yet to be discovered.
Nah, @AVENTUS will complain about the fender lip until eternity....

Got to keep the passenger happy. The Jeep I had prior to my 07 Rubicon was a basic stripped 4 banger (97). Was out in the desert (hot and dusty) had the hard top on with the windows open. After the run my wife asks if I can add an air conditioner so we could run with the windows up, air on and be dust free. Needless to say I said no - not with the little four banger. She then says you need to look for a new Jeep. I took advantage of that moment/comment and ordered the 07 from the factory. She jokes that the Rubi was a $30k air conditioner :)
Is no AC even an option anymore? Well played with the AC, with attached Jeep, upgrade.

Dirty hair?!? I can't even get past getting wind blown! Tried having her wear a baseball cap, didn't work as she was afraid it would blow off.
I have gotten in the habit of keeping spare bandanas tied on the TC&Trans shifters, a hair tube (which double as ski face balaclava) and hair elastics for that, and even suffered a fuchsia velvety hair band dangling off the ‘Oh Shizzle’ bar for a previous girlfriend... hence previous, ;)
Now always ensure to keep hair elastics stocked in the glove box (buy bag of 10-20 of the ‘good ones’ at the dollar store for under $5) is all it takes.

Clean mountain water hasn’t been an issue, and occasionally gets a laugh, but those stagnant puddles of goo/mud off-road... yeah that’s gonna earn an earful.

This comment isn't limited to just the Wranglers, but yellow turn signals in the rear aren't illegal in the US. So, I don't understand why so many times, manufacturers make two different taillights (US and Export), when one (with yellow) would do?
Could be they don't want to piss off more Jeep loyalists, kind of like they did with the turn signals in the flares. :) I personally hate the clear tail lights. Perhaps they will offer one or the other as an option, then everyone is happy with the rear turn signals. Then we can focus our disputes on the front turn signals. :)

The clear -lensed tail lights are dangerous, in my opinion. Why ? The faceted clear plastic creates a Fresnel effect in bright sunlight, the red or amber bulbs arent able to overcome this, and the signals basically disappear in the bright glare of reflected sunlight.
I've followed many a one of these "Fashion Tech "statement vehicles, and this is Fact, not Fiction. I'm also a strong Believer in Amber turn signals, to differentiate between brake tapping, and turning. Plus, the stop and turn filament is the same, one filament goes, two functions Down. LEDs might be a help, but the "Fresnel Effect" is going to be an Issue...

I can’t be the only one who sees resemblence here. I think the JL actually has more styling cues from the Liberty than it does from the TJ.

Lol thanks for the sarcastic comment but I was referring to the upright, squared-off grill slats, fender DRLs and the long, flat, slightly downward sloping hood.

Square 4 door SUV. The 4 door JK essentially picked up the old XJ people. If you think about it, the YJ and XJ were almost twins with how much they shared. Combining them into one model made sense.

I thought the Liberty was a good looking truck. Until the launch of the 4 door JK, Jeep was selling over 100,000 Liberties a year. Dropped off quickly with the JKU.

The Commander also shares the flathood and the fender DRL.

I agree. I wasn’t saying that it’s necessarily a bad thing. The Liberty didn’t look all that bad, however I am still iffy about the integration of DRLs into the fender. Looks pretty tacky/afterthought.

It is without a doubt in my mind that they went with some styling choices for the sake of facelifts down the line (lack of LED DRLs/addition of ugly taillights on the sport, awkward DRL placement)

My incessant complaining has nothing to do with angle. And everything to do with color.

It can still deflect Mud and water in any color of the rainbow.
